I've seen this game on steam dozens of times over the years, but I never knew it was going to be this interesting. So many little details and set pieces reminiscent of Simon Stalenhag's art and countless other inspirations really sells just how invested in their own game the developers were. I'm glad I got to experience it alongside tamto.

Tomato played this game good enough to get me to look at the Wiki. I played the demo and saw other people take different routes than Tomato. All i get from the game is if he stayed home and didn't drink the fancy XL drink "at some point" he would've became smrt like his hometown. Thank Wiki for telling me there's no game info on who is dropping the extermination/smart gas capsules for a hundred years. Wiki DLC talk didn't fill in answers.

the first time it was a mistery but the second time it was the group of higher-ups after reverse-engineering those, its sort of hinted that they want to slim down the population to stop smuggling of materials and all that, and that scene with the pods in the tunnel pretty much makes it apparent

I agree with Tomato on the typos. The only time you should have typos in a game are if you are intentionally trying to make a character look uneducated. A character that's talking about like, quantum mechanics and shit probably should misspell the word string.

I think typos are fine if a character talks too. Not everyone talks in perfect english so having specific mistakes in their words helps make them feel real even if it is annoying to read. And if you are basically reading from the main characters views, a constant mistake here and there with specific words fits if it's the thoughts or words of the main char.

I don't care that it wasn't a happy ending, but it just wasn't satisfying at all. Plus I knew from the moment the train broke down randomly what the ending was gonna be. I'm not one of those who try guessing the plot twists and all that but I could see that ending from a mile away, which is just disappointing when the rest of the game's storytelling has been decent. Although a thought I had when getting to the town was that the character goes home, turns into a goop guy and then the plague spreads throughout the town that was perfectly fine beforehand.

@@thebluehat6814 I mean tbf that guy was foreshadowed a little, I'm pretty sure he's the only guy who didn't turn while being tested on. Even tomato points out his eye color being the same as the enemies. Also we saw the guardian fail, what story are you suggesting got cig-butted. The player character is just trying to get back home in order to take care of his daughter, his mission is over.

@@vipsnap2707 I meant the story of the player character, sure there is absolutely 0 info about him but going from "I'm going home" to "ok you're dead now" without any kind of foreshadowing feels like 100 to 0 in seconds, I understand that something like the player character coughing the goop up would be too much on the nose but at least something that doesn't make the story of the player character end abruptly

@@thebluehat6814 I'm pretty sure that was the point the player character is simply a train driver, and the white eyed character says how the only real reason he could starve off the "infection" was because of the radiation that the trains engine was emitting. The player character isn't special, he simply follows his orders and once he's done all he wants is to see his daughter
