BTW, I'm a person who also played these games for the first time through the remasters as well. They were super tough the first time, but I've finished all 3 now, and have done less than 5 hours for Tomb Raider 1 on second playthrough to get the achievement. It gets MUCH easier the second time around. It really makes you feel like you have mastered things with enough practice and it's fun to see how much better you can get! After TR3, going back to TR1 is like a cakewalk, and TR2 isn't so bad either!

I think the secret you missed was in previous video, right after you get from the water and fight dogs, one of the rooms has a hidden lever that opens up a part of the wall that leads to the balcony. Easy to miss.

26:15 I learned from your old videos the only reason you switched to modern controls was that Palace Midas room with all the jumps and before you were doing tank controls. You can easily do that fire room in Palace Midas with tank controls by just lining up the jumps and running and just holding the jump button on as soon as you land on each platform, Lara will do repeated jumps with enough space on each platform to not fall off if you space the first jump in the sequence just right. So technically you shouldn't' need to play with modern, other than if you just prefer it now. I know some do modern, but I just can't. I started with modern, switched to tank around St. Francis Folly and never looked back, some precise jumps to get secrets and maneuvers are so much easy with tank controls. If you ever get frustrated on something with modern, maybe try tank again. I like it because the games were designed around the tank control scheme.

@@XwoooahX I’m so used to it now i don’t want to go back. I decided my second play through I’ll use tank.

37:04 And that's the third shortcut I know on this level. You were supposed to detonate that building (after finding a plug for the TNT), and then climb the ruins, that ledge was not intended to be climbable)))
@Imcoming4_u12 күн бұрын
I never saw a plug or tnr? Well it worked out lol
@XwoooahX12 күн бұрын
@@Imcoming4_u 32:30 is the tnt referred to. there is more to the level, but you need to climb the library book shelves at 27:54 which takes you to a room with a switch that opens this door 30:28 which will take you on a path to eventually find the plug to detonate it. I had no idea you could skip that stuff to get to the end of the level like you did, LOL. If you ever want all secrets/pickups you'll need to do the part of the level you missed!

@@XwoooahX thanks for reminding the level path! But it isn't needed for all secrets, the only one he missed is near the start of the level, way before chandeliers or library doors. It's after Lara fights dogs and before she gets into trap corridor with fire & water. There are three shortcuts in this level that I know of: Inside first building, jump on ladder instead of pushing block and jumping to balcony. Chandelier room, get the key without climbing on top (you miss one small medi pack & enemy). This skip, which saves you a lot of time, but you miss uzis and ammo.

@@KasumiRINA Oh you are right, for some reason I was thinking of the hidden Uzis as a "secret", but the 3 trophies are the only secrets in TR2.

So you basically skipped part of the level and missed out on the uzis...

Can't believe this skip was not adressed in the remaster.

@@Imcoming4_u Uzis are a very hidden thing, even if you did the level the right way, AND got all secrets you'd still probably have missed them. And not like you get to use them a lot so don't worry.

@ ok well that makes it a little better. 😞i wanted them .
