@@matteodelapaz1698 It’s not even close to being a Tomb Raider game, I agree. Compare the single-room absolutely pathetic ‘tombs’ in this to the wonderful complex level design of the original games. This has - get this - optional tombs. Optional tombs in a tomb raider game lol. Because they really wanted to make an Uncharted game. Sad. I’ll always miss the lonely isolation and sense of grandeur of Tomb Raider proper.

@@admiralpepper6933 Those were super over the top. To me, the sharp smack of hitting the rocks under shallow water after screwing up a jump was the worst one. Then in the sequel you could swan dive off a cliff into ankle deep water and be fine once the jelly went away

@@Carlos-Garcia47 I highly recommend the remake of the first game, Tomb Raider Anniversary. It’s far better than the new trilogy and captures the best of the original games while bringing in some new mechanics and much better graphics. It’s now a bit old itself though so they probably should , uh, remake the remake lol. Honestly though if you like Tomb Raider I’d really check that out. It’s a lot better than Legend but uses some of the mechanics from it like the grapple. For me it captures a (simplified) version of what I love about Tomb Raider games.

Even the devs claim the series is defined by the bow, but the best moment in the first two is getting the freaking shotgun, and this one especially. The fact the it comes in this psuedo horror section, and the "the ancient magic was real" moment, hits so damn hard.

This game is great, I like Laura's evolution into a monster, by the end of it she really seems to enjoy killing. Interesting little detail in the end game, if you go back to earlier sections of the island and pick off the guys who are left, like say if you were trying to get all the collectibles, they don't spawn back. By the last achievement on your save file, it's just an empty island. I like to think that's canon.

It was average quality. Adequate. Uncharted ripoff with a goofy, nonsensical, and overly-serious story. As in, this would've been a great rental back in the day. I've never gotten the slightest motivation to play the sequels. There's nothing unique about it.

I mean for a totally on rails adventure game that did nothing innovative gameplay wise with puzzles that are more insulting than challenging, it was pretty good. The best 5/10 experience I had at the time. I'd rather play the OG Tomb Raiders tbh, but I was never a huge fan of those either. Idk, this isnt my genre, its always been boring to me.

It's the best tomb raider of the new Trilogy. The story, the pacing and the gameplay are on spot. The sequels felt bland to me and full of useless collectibles. Btw Shadow is a joy for the eyes.

I usually hate collectibles, but Rise and Shadow have collectibles i really enjoy. I really appreciate the work that went into Modelling them, and i really like that Lara narrates them a little bit. There not just pointless text, but tiny bits that furnish a connection the ancient places your raiding (even if not real). I even like the stories that are told on the admittedly rather dry stone tablet things. All in these are the only collectibles in gaming that i actually like and search for.

I actually enjoyed this whole trilogy. This one and Rise were my favorites. Shadow was ok, but I wasn't a fan of the jungle setting running all those errands was exhausting and boring. This first one was intense!

Of the Tomb Raider reboot series, this one was definitely the best. I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider, but didn't like it much and I just cant be arsed to finish Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Been a Lara Croft fan ever since I played Tomb Raider 2 on the PlayStation. I really hope the new reboot will do Lara good. They want to go more back to the Classic Lara, but mentioned something about a love interest. Kinda worried about that, but am still very curious. As long as they bring back the gunplay and riddles/escape rooms.

This game felt inspired a bit by Arrow since both protagonists get stranded on an island after a boat accident, they go through a whole lot of punishment, both have the island be associated with Imperial Japanese expeditions in the past and they both use a bow as their primary weapon. I don't know if this was inspiration or coincidence since Arrow I think only released half a year before Tomb Raider 2013.

Tomb Raider 2013 was a mediocre Gen7 game and an abysmal Tomb Raider game. Every reboot of the Tomb Raider series made the character of Lara Croft worse and the games dumber.
