I still remember the feeling of how excited I was after beating the wall of China level (I had no idea how to play when I first got the game) So being in Venice and driving the boats were so awesome to me!

Ahh nostalgia. This has actually aged quite well, good textures can hide a multitude of low-poly sins. Even in Doom... which doesn't have any "polys" at all XD

One of my favourites levels of tomb raider 2 because i really liked to run the boat,also listening the ambient music like the birds and other favourite music like the violin parts :) i played again for the nostalgic :p

I didn't use the boats, just went down through that door where the switch to open the final gate is located. Crazy that it worked.

Never played Tomb Raiders on PS1, but still feeling the nostalgia and typical elements the games of these days have. The environment feels rich despite the low polys and the number of interactions we have in the game (climbing, swimming, driving a boat) seem to be so far ahead of its time concerning PS1 games at the time

I miss when games were this way. So much intrigue and the interest was not in how big the world was, how customizable the characters or scenery or the game itself was, how realistic the graphics and textures got, or how socially/politically relevant the game could get. You got hooked because it was a fun challenge that didn't hold back, usually with a compelling story, and there were no gimmicks to distract you from it. Call it blind nostalgia, but I really feel like a very minimal amount of games today have this quality, and to the degree these old PS1 games did.

You don't need to do the speedboat speed run twice. You can let the first boat crash into the mines untimed, and then amble back to the boathouse with the other boat and then do the speed run.

13:05 I was stuck on this bit. Stupid mechanics. You need to enter that room but the door is locked and only opens when you step on the platform. Only problem is that if you see its locked then why step on the platform?

You have to use boost. It is the same key as shooting (Ctrl). But be careful because crashing fast will decrease your health

@@TheNewBerser I think what made it tough was I missed getting the third dragon statue on the first level (which I didn't realize as a kid until watching these videos). 😅 I wish I could replay this. This was one of my favorite games playing on the computer 🙂
