@@gibbs615 I agree. I think the reason why people hated the Legend-Underworld Lara because it wasn't until Revelation-AOD games we got a good glimpse of Lara's personality. (AOD is a darker Lara and acts much different than her previous adventures. Core Design said so themselves. As a side note.) Some may differ, but I disagree. The first three games weren't about Lara herself as much as it was about her adventures. So it left room for interpretation who Lara is. I think seeing Lara's character being flesh-out has brought contradictions to their original idea of her. In fact, Toby Gard worked on Legend-Underworld games and got the opportunity to flesh Lara out for the first time due to technology and people are saying that his interpretation is wrong! I'll only give them this: Lara's written background has changed throughout the series.

I grew up on TR1 and 2.... but this is probably my most favourite one. I remember everything about it even years later. I enjoy the new reboot games, but I can't remember their plot at all after completing them.... quite forgettable

I’ve played most of the games, but the latest one was “Rise of the Tomb Raider” and “Shadow” they were my least favorites. Which was a shame, cause the scenery and gameplay was really good, but the story was very forgettable.

I hate how Amanda justified everything and said that Lara's mother went where she wanted to go, even though all Lara's life, Amanda was the reason Lara's mother died. She could have easily said: "Lara, take out the sword, or it will explode!" But instead she made Lara's mom think that she was in danger. And so Amanda caused Lara's mom's death, again.

But she was in danger. If she had said that and present day Lara pulled out the sword while past Amelia didn't, then the past sword would have exploded and potentially killed them both in the past and created a paradox since of Lara got blown up as a child she couldn't be there in the future with Amanda

I dont understand why Lara says "You killed her" to Amanda. Amanda was just trying to get to Avalon. How did she kill Lara's mom in the process?

Jesse It was because of Amanda's instructions (e.g. "Pull out the sword!") that Lara's mom pulled out the sword and vanished. Lara rightfully assumed that the explosion that followed killed her mother and as we see in TR8 (spoiler alert) - after being transported to "Avalon," Lara's mom turned into a thrall and died.

Actually the explosion destroyed the final working dais . The portal in Nepal teleported Lara's mother in Avalon and according to Lara's journal, Amelia was either killed by thralls or fell in the eitr.

to sum up, old lara had much better story, if u think about it they spread a story over a 3 different part of games, because anniversary is also connected to all of this(whish is a rework of 1st Tomb Raider ), which means they made story like they were planning what to do since 2006(date when TR Legend was released over to 2008 TR Underworld were u discover that legend is connect with 1st tomb raider together in underworld, as i said to sum up old lara had amazing sroty and it probs not gonna be replaced ever again

Ich bin mit Legend Anniversary und Underworld aufgewachsen und es waren meiner Meinung nach die besten Tomb Raider spiele!! Die neue Reihe von 2013 usw. ist vom Spielen her nicht schlecht aber die „neue“ Lara is einfach zum kotzen. DIESE LARA IN DIESEM SPIEL IST EINFACH DIE ECHTE SIE HATTE GENUG HUMOR UND PERSÖNLICHKEIT AUCH OHNE STÄNDIGES RUMHEULEN UND SCHULDGEFÜHLE WIESO HAT MAN DAS GEÄNDERT!! Was ich auch nicht verstehe ist wieso sie immer noch nicht die Doppel Pistolen ins Spiel gebracht haben?! Wieso immer Pfeil und bogen mit ner Schrotflinte und Sturmgewehr versteh es einfach nicht! Sie hätten sie so lassen sollen wie sie ist ganz einfach!! Was ich auch sagen muss ist, ich finde die Atmosphäre in den alten Spielen viel viel besser um einiges besser die Gespräche die Cutscenes einfach alles war geil und die Musik war einfach dass beste es hat alles so viel spannender gemacht etc. Man hat es einfach richtig gefühlt irgendwie.... aber bei den neuen Teilen bin ich schlicht nur noch genervt von dieser „Art“ Lara. Für mich waren die neuen Teile einfach kein Tomb raider mehr klar zum Spielen waren sie echt super aber so als richtiger Fan der Tomb raider Reihe leider für mich persönlich eine absolute Enttäuschung 😒 aber legend, Anniversary und Underworld waren einfach die geilsten Teile. In den neuen Teilen fehlen mir auch diese Gespräche wie hier zwischen Lara, Alister und Zipp mir fehlt dass total aber des hat mir schon in Underworld gefehlt 😅 Fazit ich liebe diese Lara und ich liebe diese Spiele alles was nach Underworld kam war einfach keine Lara mehr und auch kein Tomb raider 😭

As a fan from when the games came out when I was just a little girl: I prefer the old TRI, II & II, but these aren't so bad either. Sometimes I think they talk way too much, but then Lara delivers an awesome line and I am laughing. Just don't mention AOD..... I can't comprehend how the F many think it's a masterpiece: it was the last botched game that ruined the franchise...... Everything about that game was botched: the controls in themselves were horrible.
