Currently playing TRU on PC and got surprised how much both versions are different (graphics, pathways, environments)

i played this on 360 and wii never worked out why underworld on the wii looked so bad when tomb raider anniversary looked so good. the wii could do a lot better but this was a lazy port that was meant for the ps2

baldbookgeek Even then Anniversary on all platforms only looked good in Croft Manor and Peru. Beyond those it looked worse than either Legend or the better Anniversary Edition (Core's cancelled one) which was planned to debut on an even less powerful system (the PSP), with PC & PS2 enhanced ports coming after. As for Underworld, it's a shame that the PS2 version sucks as it controls better than the wii, but unlike the wii port it's severely cut down on graphics and content in general such as whole areas from the wii one missing entirely, like the yacht at the start of the first level, the escape out of Niflheim and both the elevator & gem garden in Thailand, feeling like a rushed beta version of the wii port.

@@lionocyborg6030 I never had any If you saw the anniversary it just look like a port it’s a favourites mine and underworld in ps2 and wii was a horrible lazy game that felt like a remix

baldbookgeek That is true the Wii version of Anniversary was a direct port. I wasn't stating otherwise. I was also saying the PS2 version of Underworld was an even lazier remix as they just took the Wii version, dumbed the graphics down even further and cut out sometimes pretty big chunks of the levels on top of that, like they made a released the beta of a remix first and then fixed it slightly for the Wii. Personally I think the Wii version does have its charms, lazy remix or not, but I can't play it as I don't have a Wii (and don't know how to set up Wii controls in Dolphin on my Xbox controller to emulate if) and I prefer the HD version which I played first. The PS2 version is the closest I've come to playing the wii one, which wasn't a good start.

@@lionocyborg6030 the wii and ps2 was the same game not any difference and yes I do agree with the wii version of TRA it was good but the added stuff added nothing to it. The HD version of TRU is far better game

@@baldbookgeek There actually are some differences between the PS2 and Wii versions, but you'd need to have seen them both and/or used a side by side comparison to be sure. Try watching this longplay of the PS2 game vs the wii walkthrough videos. Try to hang on the nearest ledge which is underneath Lara if you press minus button. This is the easier and less risky way than I did.

Wow, they really dumbed down the graphics to port this over to the Wii! It's also interesting the extent to which the level has been redesigned to accomodate Wii gameplay.

aj74205 The PS2 port is even worse, and it lacks the Wii version's charm due to being basically a cut down beta of it. Try it out on PCSX2 or watch a longplay and you'll see what I mean. If/when the entire Tomb Raider franchise (Golden 6 plus Core Design's TRAE, Legend, Underworld & the prequel reboot games without Crystal's TRA) comes to Switch, I hope that Underworld not only has all the Xbox DLC (expansions & outfits) for the HD original, but comes with the Wii port as well as a bonus, so you get to play both versions on Nintendo's better console compared to the wii.

For one, 90% of the game is a boring grey cave, all the good bits especially in Atlantis were cut out, the Larson ship tease was unwanted as were the shitty quick time events, Natla was turned into a Saturday morning cartoon villain and Atlantis went from a cool geothermal powered biotechnology lab to discount Mordor. TRAE by Core Design (the cancelled one) is infinitely better, and that’s despite the only build released to the public is an unfinished alpha version. At least fans are fixing up TRAE Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project style. You just wait. It’ll blow TRA out of the water when it’s done, which is just as well considering TRA sank.

@@lionocyborg6030 I find Anniversary much better and more enjoyable TR1 and merging parts of Cistern & Tomb of Tihocan together and then Atlantis & The Great Pyramid was good as the game is much easier I prefer easy games from what I have seen of the Core Design cancelled game it was a 1 to 1 remake I liked the quick time events.

@@AdamDawson3 Easier does not always mean better: The shortened tomb of tihocan was awful as was Atlantis, which got rid of all the cool little rooms that made the levels feel worthwhile. Egypt was a lot harder, especially Obelisk of Khamoon with its too many traps and bugs. Also TRAE is NOT a 1:1 remake. Play the alpha yourself and look at the screenshots of the game, both development screenshots before the leak and those taken from it. Then read the entirety of the design document.

although graphics sucks and there is no sprint and adrenalin move...the wii version is still interesting cause it gots some ideas which are not in the nextgen version like thailand around 4 minutes and croft manor, mexico and the beginning of jan mayen islands..!!!

I played this game long time ago, but as far as I remember you need to press minus button then make moving down gesture with wii remote and nunchuck. I hope that help you.

Omg compered to xbox360 this is like under construction graphics/ unfinished product.. wii graphics sucks. Back in those days i bought it on wii but next day exchanged it to xbox360. Glad i did that as both were priced the same.
