I grew up on music like this song and lots of jazz and fusion courtesy of my father being a musician as well, and even though I transitioned into metal, I have an unending soft spot for old school music. It hits so much different than the hip-hop and rap that was present in my area, and I’m glad to say I had good influences musically growing up.

According to my husband, Back when this was cut, 'Nard, Wink and Mike brought the record over to my father-in-law's house -- he was their karate teacher. They played it for them before it hit the radio. Same with Bernard's first album. The record in the original jacket is still there.
