It was great to see an episode of this old show which I used to watch as a kid. I will turn 70 next month and it was was fun to see this old tv western and to be reminded of a simpler and better time.

The very first episode and one of my favorites. Pat was 26 when he started the series and his character hadnt really developed yet. What a brave Sheriff and he is, to me anyway, the fastest draw in TV westerns. Great story and some humor as well.

Love this western. I discovered this a few months ago on my cable-- it was on channel 337. A well written and well acted western I dont understand why it only lasted 2 or 3 seasons. Thanks for posting.

My favorite western. It’s too bad it only lasted three seasons. I enjoyed watching it and they took it off the air. I’m glad I recorded it every episode now I can watch it any time I want it. It’s the best and FETV needs to put it back on the air!!

Wow, this show was really good. I used to watch these with my uncle back in 58 when I was 10, in Cuba, dubbed in Spanish. I thought Hollister was a real cool lawman, with his good looks, and the cool way he had of wiggling his hand to relax it, which made him so fast. I wanted to be like him. Now I see that the shows were well written and just found out they were based on true stories. The guy narrating reminds me of The Untouchables, which were also true stories and of which we were big fans , too.

These episodes were so tightly written that they always run in the same time slot. It amazes me that 30 minutes can pass so apparently quickly. Brilliant entertainment.

A very underrated western from televisions golden age. I liked the narration... set it apart from other shows, and the very catchy theme song. I have this series on DVD, and whenever I watch it, that song stays in my head for a month! Love it.

Season 1 Episode 1 - and the funniest one of them all! This was such an underrated tv western.. Pat Conway had style and flare. Eastham was also perfect for his character. Curly Bill, well, go steal some more! Some of the best lines of any western series.

What I really like about these old westerns is that even the toughest and most dangerous of outlaw is so well spoken especially around women and children - no swearing and smutty jokes. Is that how it really was or was it just Hollywood.

Still a great show. Watch it as a kid. Noticed one thing though. At the beginning, the narrator says the date was Aug. 4, 1881, about 2 1/2 months before the Gunfight At The OK Corral. The Earps and Doc Holliday were already in Tombstone, but no mention of them in this. Curly Bill Brocious is in this episode, but no mention of Ike Clanton or Johnny Ringo. Slight appearance of one of the McLowerys.

Discovered this show during a Sunday morning on FETV, what a find, sorry that it lasted only a few seasons w/ 50+ episodes... Ive come to really like the half hour westerns, they are far superior to the Movies, IMHO.

A fictionalized account of a true story: Deputy Billy Breakenridge went to the San Simon Valley to collect taxes - which had never been done before. He met up with Curly Bill who thought it would be a hoot to make the rustlers pay taxes. He took Breakenridge to all the hide outs and made the rustlers pay their fair share.
