What I love about the Prime Empire season: - The video game theme - Jay’s cult of Jay - New suits and new weapons of course - Okino - Scott - Jay and Nya dance competition - Detective Zane ( along with Pixals annoyance of it) - Jay and Unagami connecting over being practical orphans in a sense - The biggest thing I find interesting is how the main villain’s goal isn’t the usual “ evil evil” thing. Sure a lot of the game characters came out of the game when they went through that dimensional portal and caused some chaos, but Unagami only wanted answers from his creator. This guy didn’t want to take over the world or destroy it, he just wanted to know why his dad abandoned him when he virtually did nothing wrong. I know there are plenty of other flaws, but the main flaw this season, like most of the ones after season 10 of the episodes are not long enough. It’s not enough time to flush out a plot points and character dynamics, overall still a pretty good season to me.

Ya prime empire really underrated. I just love the video game visuals. And not every season has to be extremely serious and prime empire is just a fun treat to go back to every once in a while.

It's also really clever when you think about Akino's refusal of betraying the ninja, as when he says "I choose my own path" he's not only doing what he knows is right, but also is adhering to his own code. He was made to be a mentor for new players, and a heroic character, and thus cannot be swayed into the dark side without great difficulty. Edit: You could also say the same for Racer 7. Despite being programmed to lose, she is still coded to compete in every race, which means she would need alot of determination to continue on, as well as know every track and it's secret routes like the back of her claw hands. All she needed was motivation from an outside force(Lloyd), and her inner code manages to overwrite her programmed pathways. Also, it's not uncommon to see npcs end up in places they shouldn't or wouldn't be in without some outside help or influence

The music and visuals in this season are amazing. I seriously love the track that plays when Lloyd and Avatar “Harumi” duke it out

Same. That’s the reason why I love the season so much. The visuals are epic and the soundtrack feels like you’re actually playing a retro video game.

I'd honestly say the season's biggest issue is the episode count, with the other issues being a result of it, I don't think that 16 was enough for what they were trying to do, which is clear with most of the season's shorts, which are very clearly parts of episodes or just straight up an entire episode (in the case of "Inside the Game" aka shorts 3, 4 and 5 combined), cut for time to fit into the 16 episode limit with some of the stuff getting turned into the shorts, "Let's Dance" and "Upgrade" feel like they were meant to be either the start of "Would You Like to Enter Prime Empire", or having been the start and middle of an episode set before it, that would've been the original first episode of the season, with an ending that likely would've contained The Mechanic finding out about the motherboard and the ninja learning about his next target, the electronics warehouse, "The Meaning of Victory", "The Stowaway" and "Manhunt" or collectively known as "Inside the Game", is very clearly an entire episode that cut, which likely was meant to come between "Dyer Island" and "Level Thirteen", so that there isn't a lack of Jay in his own season for almost 3 episodes, "Gayle Gossip: A Closer Look" is honestly the only one that should've been cut, it honestly feels like it was just an extended part of the news report at the start of "Level Thirteen" and I really can't see as being anything other than that, it feels like there would've been an entire episode between "Superstar Rockin' Jay" and "I Am Okino" that would've been about the ninja finding out the "Story" of Prime Empire, what to do and getting their digi suits, weapons and skills, which honestly SHOULD'VE been what the 6th short was, not another news report, there is no good reason why such a major chunk of the story is just not shown at all, some of Okino's backstory should've been cut out to make space to show the ninja learning their objective, cutting out some player deaths for it is a fair trade, I'd really only say that Okino's introduction, the first and maybe second player deaths, the motivation from the other guide, and the final player death are all that was needed for the backstory. I honestly think that if the season was given 20 episodes, 2 for the shorts minus Gayle Gossip, 1 for the ninja learning the objective and getting ready, and 1 episode between "Stop, Drop and Side Scroll" and "Ninjago Confidential" starting with Jay and Nya talking about how the two of them being the last ones left again, is similar to the Skybound timeline, allowing an opening for Jay to talk to Nya about how he's developed abandonment issues as a result of learning he's adopted from that timeline have been effecting him and asking Nya if she saw his birth mother when she and Kai went back in time to stop Krux and Acronix, and if Nya got to see what she was like, which would what the episode is dedicated to, thus creating a natural point for those issues to enter the story without it feeling forced in just for the sake of Jay having a hero and villain "You and I aren't so different" moment in the finale with no build up on Jay's side, additionally doing it after Lloyd's death has the benefit of it just being Jay and Nya, so there's no need to have to work around there being another character there when the topic of the alternate timeline is brought up, so the amount of explaining needed to be done is significantly reduced. Prime Empire feels like it was a story just ever so slightly too long for the amount of time it has, and that it's problems of a "tell don't show" approach to missing context, it's reliance on shorts to explain things and sudden rushed inclusion of plot points are all a result of that. On an unrelated note, I do think that this truly was the right time and opportunity to bring in Airjitzu, as it's a videogame world, so the normal rules of Airjitzu being powered by dark magic don't have to apply, and given the age of prime Empire as being 30 years old, it allows for a natural explanation of Dyer having heard of Airjitzu, and realizing it's potential use as an in game ability, and programing in an ability based off it, also I love that Nya calls it "Cyclon-Do", like how Jay did when the Ninja used it, given that Nya likes Jay's humor, and the others were not a fan of it, so it makes sense that if it would catch on with anyone, it would be her, it is a shame that this is likely the last time Airjitzu appears going forward, while it was cool, I'm not too upset about it disappearing, now one thing I am upset that is gone, is the Hydroelectric Dragon, as that was cool and the idea of compatible elements being able to create a hybrid dragon is an idea with a lot of potential on what can be made, like could earth and fire create some kind of volcano dragon?

I’ve never really hated a season. Maybe episodes, or loving a season over another, but never hated a season. Again, maybe only characters or arcs, but I’ve always loved ninjago. Season 1 I’ve never really re watched.

I was talking with a friend of mine about ninjago once and he said dead to my face that prime empire was just spy kids 3. I do agree with him I just thought this would be a good time to mention it.

True, prime empire has always been one of my favorite seasons (atleast out of the new ones) i pretty much i agree with you. Its just a really cool concept because video games are awesome, it also feels kinda like rebooted in a way though.
