I’m thinking about getting an FK8 since prices are somewhat more reasonably priced than the FL5. Anyways, I had the Tomei exhaust before I sold my ‘16 STI and to me that sounded the best by far. Sounds so good I kept the exhaust. It’s the same for the FK8 which sounds so nasty, all the others still sound kinda meh…2nd place would have to go to the Greddy DD-R for me.

ehhh fk8 values are still inflated for used/high mileage. and most of them are modified to some extent. FL5s are also going for MSRP now too.

Dream automotive has the best sounding experience....I personally take a shine to the set up that sounds like a get and less like a buggy like this one does ...go check them out

Wow I never heard of them until now and I’m actually impressed with the sound and it’s also valves which is a nice feature, the design also looks wayyyy different than any other exhausts I’ve seen lol! Thank you for pointing me out to them, that was a worthwhile watch 👍🏽

Is it stock down pipe and front pipe? What else has done to it other than the exhaust?

Yessir stock downpipe and frontpipe! Car has the Gruppe M intake and the tomei exhaust by itself in this video

Do you know how many decibels this exhaust is with the stock front and downpipe? Thinking about buying it but i sadly live in germany where you cant legally drive around with this exhaust...don't really want it to be a cop magnet so i figured you might know the db values as i could find nothing about that online.

I honestly don’t know the decibels for this exhaust but with the frontpipe and downpipe the vehicle wasn’t too loud, they do come with silencers which makes it more quiet if that helps but if it’s illegal where you’re at, I feel like this exhaust will get attention because of the way it looks already if they’re behind you, I don’t know how strict they’re in Germany but you can quiet the exhaust note if you add the silencers in

@@timothysarin right now im driving the remus with fully opened valves, which is technically illegal too because of the valves which have to be closed on open roads normaly...would you say the tomei is significantly louder than the remus? As of looks, yes i think its very attention grabbing but it kinda looks a bit similiar to the hks legamax which actually is legal in germany...i'm so tempted to just say screw it and order it anway due to how fire it is haha

@@marlonhofeld5146 I’m watching videos of the Remus exhaust and the exhausts sounds good! I like that it’s also valved too which you can open and close, I feel like tomei with stock downpipe and frontpipe won’t be that much louder than the Remus exhaust, once you start adding a Catless downpipe or catted downpipe that’s when I feel like the tomei exhaust will be kind of unbearable, I have the RV6 Catless downpipe paired with the tomei exhaust right now and the exhaust and drone is super loud, the inside of the cabin is buzzy and sometimes make me feel a little sick inside depending on the constant throttle I’m holding or pushing lol!

@@timothysarin honestly, i think i have to go for another downpipe cause my downpipe has some sort of filter in it which basically makes the car much quieter and also restricts the exhaust flow...so even if im going with a catted downpipe, i think the tomei will be extremely loud. I'm sure i wont mind but i think the police will :/ I'll have to think about it...i have "tüv" in a few months where they basically check everything on your car and see if it's safe and legal, so i'll have to wait 'till then either way...anyway, im looking forward to seeing more videos of your type r :)

Yes I think the tomei with any aftermarket downpipe will be extremely loud lol! I will try to find some time to make an exhaust video with the RV6 Catless downpipe I have paired with the tomei, it’s extremely loud and when you give throttle about 40% and up, the car screams and rasps without hesitation lol! If I were in your shoes and had this exhaust setup I’d honestly be too scared to drive it bc it draws a lot of unwanted attention, I have an inspection in April of 2023 so we’ll see if I pass or not with the Catless downpipe, it throws a cel code here and there but hasn’t stayed on consistently, right now there’s no light on my car so I hope when it’s time for inspection the light isn’t there and I should be able to pass, Thank you for watching my videos I really appreciate it! 🙏🏽

It won’t exactly fit 100% BUT if you know someone who can weld titanium and custom fab it then it would fit, but buying it and trying to bolt it on right away won’t fit

It won’t exactly fit unless you know someone who can weld titanium and custom fab it only because the exhaust hangers are in different positions and the exhaust lengths might be different, it won’t be plug and play exactly when you buy it unless you know someone who can help you with tools and knowledge/welding

I just bought and installed it last week. Drone is horrible inside tho. I was very surprised about the sound. I expected more than that because I had it before on the EvoX. So, I researched and found out TomeiUSA is fake Tomei. If you part number start with T, that mean it from TomeiUSA and Tomei JP never made TypeD for FK8 also. And Tomei Japan confirmed Tomei USA is fake. I didn't know about that shittt until I bought and realize the sound is not right. Tomei never made bad sound like that.

Yeah drone is pretty bad in our car with this exhaust. I was expecting more from the sound too bc of that “tomei” brand, I didn’t know Tomei USA is fake I thought they merged or had business here 😭 ahhh man, too expensive to do anything now LOL but I don’t mind the lighter titanium exhaust weight either

Tomei USA and Tomei JP are using the same parts/materials. So i wouldn’t call it fake. Same same its just both USA and JP company aren’t together.

Do they custom made for other honda civic ? Mine is exl hatchback and they split the exhaust to left and right , i really interested with these exhaust

I don’t think tomei custom makes these exhaust for the exl, the pipe only goes straight down to the middle of the car and the lengths/dimensions on top of rubber hanger placement is different
