But all we need now is to just have a repeat of last year, win 2 playoff games again. I honestly would be happy if we can just get there, even if we don't win it. To finally witness what it's like to be in a Super Bowl would just be amazing, and we've got the team to do it if we get healthy enough.

It's too much fun looking back at both of those moments and seeing the trajectory of how much it helped shoot us forward and give us the edge on Green Bay.

@@traviscrawford6516 3 or 4 is the right ranking. It's clearly Lions Chiefs 1 and 2 in either order, Bills Eagles 3 and 4 in either order. I think it's response to the oof on "29th passing offense". The team and Hurts are top 10 in almost all efficiency metrics passing the ball, they're just even better at running the ball so hardly ever throw it. When they've needed to do it, they're good at it.

Thanks for giving the Vikings the credit they deserve this season, while acknowledging their shortcomings as well (Like you, I am a hometown fan and not a homer). I agree Detroit played spectacularly on Sunday, especially the defense. Our defense kept us in the game for a long time, but eventually got worn down. I would also give the Lions the #1 spot. I hope we meet them again in the playoffs, but right now I just want a win against the Rams. In all honesty, I wish the Packers well against the Eagles. That should be a fun game, let's see how it goes. As for the Super Bowl while I'd love to see my Vikings in the first SB I would ever see in my 41 years on this Earth, I would also be very happy with a Bills-Lions matchup. The Lions would get their first SB appearance (holy crap, are they ever due!) and either team would get their first SB title. I've enjoyed the Chiefs in the playoffs these last few years, but it's time for someone else to get a shot and/or win the title.

Vikings fan. Our defensive stats don’t pass the eye test. While we’re ranked high in rush def, teams that pound the ball move easily on us. And the reason we are so low in pass defense is playing way too conservatively when we have a good lead at the end of games. Except for a couple games, I’ve felt our pass def is better than rush def whenever the score is close

I don't think he will come back, it's very risky to rush back from that kind of injury. I don't think he's been able to even practice so getting game speed ready in a month would be tough. Plus if he does rush in and get hurt again it would set him back either furter or worse could affect him the rest of his life causing him to retire early. I think he should not play unless he's 100%.

as a lifelong skins fan I want to say something about the defense. While one defensive player (ie Chase Young) won't change the complexion of a defense, Johnathan Allen being back defiantly helps. He's a leader of that unit, and while he inst the best run stopper in the league, knowing possible opponents such as Tampa and Philly love to run, the run D unit will be much improved.

I think one of the most important factors for the lions is going to be Ford Field. As a lion’s fan it is a genuinely thundering stadium to be in and even with the Vikings paying for $2 million worth of seats it was absolutely roaring. So to face a team as good as the Lions are with the ability for them to improve even more, and in that environment it’s gonna be rough unless someone decides to just buy out the stadium

Packers are 2-5 against playoff teams. Bucs are 4-3 against playoff teams and have a home playoff game. Rams also have a home playoff game and beat the Vikings and Bills and only lost to the Lions in OT. I think the Packers are overrated here.

The most missed part of the Lions defense patching back together is Ifeatu melinfonwu coming back. He is a borderline top 10 safety in the league. Last year he stole reps from CJ Gardner Johnson during the playoffs because he was better. He has been out all year until San Fran. Although he started rough during San Fran, he finished strong. And he BALLED out vs the Vikings. The loss of Carlton Davis is made up for now because you can scoot iffy out to safety and move Brian branch back into the nickel, which he is excellent at, without missing a beat in that safety room. That gives us the ability to put Robertson on the outside, which he is one of the best cornerbacks in the league at. He just played the nickel because Carlton is slightly better and Arnold would be much better on the outside than in the nickel. Anzalone coming back fixes the linebacker issue and is the biggest reason they will play better, as teams were just picking apart the one linebacker that was playing that came fresh off the streets, forcing either the flats or the middle of the field to be open over and over again. The Lions defense healthy is arguably the best in the league. They still lead the league in opponent qb passer rating, which is really the most important stat. Are they going to return to what they were when fully healthy? No. That’s for next year. But they don’t need to be that. If they are average the Lions are terrifying. Because they beat the packers and hung in with the bills while rolling out a pre season defense with players that hadn’t played all year. But now they should be great against the run again and at least middle of the pack vs the pass, if you don’t have receivers to beat their defense, they’ll walk all over you. Because the Lions can drop back and play man to man again and be just fine. Arnold will be fine. Might miss 1 game but might play. The Lions are terrifying. Can they get even healthier and stay healthy? We shall see.
