yes when i got born again our pastor told us that from that moment we were enlisted in the army of God. Yahweh is 100% sovereign. Deuteronomy 18:21-22 'And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken? When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.' The word of Yahweh can never fail. Yahweh knows the end from the beginning and therefore He cannot speak a thing and it fails to pass because man did not step in. Imagine that Yahweh makes a promise and then it fails because I did not do my part and so He makes an excuse, that would mean that He is not sovereign. But Yahweh is sovereign and His word cannot return unto Him void. When He speaks a thing, it MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED!

exactly, if it is a promise really coming from the Lord through His Holy Spirit. So what is essential is to discern if it is surely from God or not, with the conviction of the Holy Spirit inside us, wether we receive directly the promise, or if it is given through a servant of the Lord. The accomplishment of a true Word from the Lord does not depend on us, otherwise nothing would come to pass (!), even if we will have our part to do and learn and grow through the process between the promise and its coming to pass. The Holy Spirit will mold and prepare us through it all for what is coming to handle it well when the fulfillment will be there. Once a promise from God has been spoken, the Holy Spirit will work until it come to pass and he won’t fail. (But if the given word from God is a warning, God says it to produce repentance so that the bad better not happen. And we can also make a distinction between a personal God given promise, and a conditional promise regarding the Holy Scripture. In this case we have to fulfill the condition. Now that Christ is resurrected he is the living Word in us through the Holy Spirit and I guess the Holy Spirit will also do the perfect work in us to fulfill the condition ?) Between a promise (let’s say not a warning and not a promise with condition to make it simple) and his accomplishment, we have to fight the good fight of faith. And could we lose faith during the process ? Not at all because the Holy Spirit himself will sustain our faith. The key is to surrender continually to the will of God, denying our own will, so that His will be done in our life. But once he has spoken, even if in the meantime we make mistakes, sometimes lose courage, God already knew it all, and The Holy Spirit will sustain us up to the end and accomplish the Word through it all. Sometimes it can take years, and we will have to keep the promise in our heart, and remember that God is faithful and all powerful to fulfill His promise all along the way. Blessings !

In His sovereignty, the Lord can also decide that He will not do something without our co-operation and partnership. He is more interested in who we are becoming and the extent to which we are being conformed to Christ, which is the actual goal. We tend to be more interested in situational and seasonal outcomes so we tend to interpret the prophetic as primarily predictive. Our flat footedness does not mean that the Lord cannot reroute and bring His word to pass further down the line, with those who are willing to partner with Him. But the Lord is not operating indirect rule. He is growing us up to be sons, conformed to His image and joint heirs with Christ. We are seated with Him because the intent is that we co-reign with Him. Our engagement and partnership is very important because who we are becoming is important, not just outcomes.
