Giiiiirrrrrrlllll!!! You just recounted my life story as a melanin rich queen living in the deep, dirrty south of Italy. Amazing food, everyone staring or being your business, wonderful cultural heritage, shower stalls in old bathrooms that are so small you can’t bend over to wash your legs, gorgeous beaches, still living like WWII ended recently, and the bureaucracy makes getting anything done in a timely manner impossible.

Tomi I am also leaving Japan in a month. I was screaming “Girl, yaaasss!!” at each of your points because I was thinking the same thing. Going to miss the conbinis but can’t wait to have my privacy back!! Being in the school staff room is like being in a fishbowl. Good luck on your journey back home. 😊

Tomie I'm sure there is a lot of mixed emotions going on. The packing alone would be difficult. Hope you've given yourself a little time after your contract ends to travel. We are excited to view Tomie's World in Jamaica 🇯🇲 😍. I've watch a show recently on it and am excited to see more through your channel. Someday. I hope to go there. Don't forget to pack a few Japanese spices and recipes. I'm sure your family will like to try a dish or two. Bless you. Prayers that this next month goes easily.

1. That bag is giving me life!! I immediately googled and found the website. 2. Don't beat yourself up so much about #4. There are many foreigners here who do speak Japanese but still find it difficult to have deep convo or make friends with Japanese ppl. 3. The bureaucracy you speak of is deadly; even for Japanese ppl themselves. They really do make things unnecessarily complicated to frustrate ppl from doing it, maybe. 4.Unsolicited advice: I think it's important when you go to a foreign country to work, to always visit home as often as possible to keep you grounded until you get acclimated to being away. Either way, I'll miss your videos abt Japan but I'll look forward to your next journey. Should be interesting. All the best. From one yadie to a next 🇯🇲

I live in Japan and the bureaucracy is a big reason why I'm leaving. I don't want to teach English anymore and I would have to get a job elsewhere and I refuse to participate in the unnecessary bureaucratic systems. Even the way their doctors/dentist visits are set up are so overly complicated and they make it so difficult to get to a solution. I caaaaaannnnnnnn't!!!!! Just fix my tooth and let me move on with my life!!!!!
