What a great piece of RC history! Really looking forward to the Part 2!!! I'd love to see you completely restore this old girl! I just recently got back into the hobby, and all I remember from way back when I was a kid my neighbor did RC stuff, so I would tag along with him and his kid to local club get-togethers. There were a bunch of adults tinkering around with petrol stuff like this, since elec-tech was nowhere near what we have now and ICE cars weren't nearly so compact. I wanna say there were at least 3-4 guys that had 1/4-scale stuff like this and raced on weekends in parking lots alongside the folks running NiCd buggies, but they had a circuit set up that was HUGE by comparison. I live in Florida, so we also went down to Daytona's oval and ran some of them on the big banked turns, same as NASCAR and then dropping down to the infield for some "road course" layout. I really want to see that again someday, except with my own car barreling through the turn!
