Love the tuition on setting the ESC's to LiPo cutoff voltages. And then Clarkson-ing of it! Guys - for low draw setups, check out Molicel Li-Ion batteries. Their cells have huge capacity for current draw for Li-Ion, the P28A 18650's for instance, have 2800mah capacity and a ridiculous 35 Amp current rating, and their 21700 cells supply 45 Amps. And they're cheap - $6 and $5, respectively, so a 3S 45A 4200mah pack would be less than $20 in parts. I've been using them in RC planes and cars, and can attest to the current ratings (the planes have flight controllers with current meter telemetry on the OSD.

I can confirm that. The original gt24’s used to come with a 2s lipo out the box. The only thing that wears is the slipper clutch which is just two plastic pieces that have ribs. The solution for that is to superglue them together and have fun. You’ll go through a pinion gear every five or six months which is cheaper and easier than dealing with the slipper assembly.

To get more speed, increase the size of the tires. But you need the buggy version to do this. Either get the mini z buggy monster rims and tires (very expensive) or make your own with mini z rims with mini 4wd monster tires. You'll need the metal pinon or else you'll strip the plastic one in no time.

What you should do to get lipo back to chargeable is replace it. What you "shouldnt" do is set your charger to NICD or NIMH and charge that lipo cell for a few seconds to above the cutoff voltage and then stop it and continue the charge in lipo mode. It could make your battery catch fire so even though itll probably save you having to replace the lipo you probably shouldnt try it. ;)

the carisma GT24 RS escort model is really 1/20 scale in size to the real escort RS Mexico mk1car. The GT24 RS with a modification of a hole cut out to the front left bottom side of the chassis to get the inside connection for the battery to the outside of the chassis, you can strap a bigger 7.4 volt 2s lipo, or a 7.4 volt 1200 -2000 mah li-ion battery to the top of chassis lid with a big thick black elastic band ( bought from amazon ) diagonally crossed over round the entire chassis body . But before you strap the battery get a 50×30mm 3M sticky pad ( bought from amazon ) to stick over and protect the aerial wire on top of the chassis top cover. The aerial is long enough to lay down to a small pillar with a slit in its centre of the pillar, at the rear centre back of the chassis. You can then keep charging the new bigger battery permanently strapped to the top of the chassis without unstrapping it. This modification to the car and with a new bigger battery connected to the top compartment lid of the chassis will make your car go like shit of a stick. While adding extra battery weight, the car has power a plenty to spin its rear wheels and power slide out its rear end. The 1/20 in real scale size to the original Ford RS Mexico mk1car, the carisma GT24 RS escort version has a top speed scale speed faster than the real car, with a scale speed of around 440mph, which in fact utterly ballistic is the right term for this little pocket rocket from this small RC car. When i wss a kid i saw a real very highly modified Ford RS Mexico that could accelerate at under 2.7 seconds 0-60 where i was living as a kid in Rawdon Leeds, West Yorkshire . Then later on in my twenties i also saw a very highly modified porsche 911 RS4 that also had blindingly quick acceleration, and this was in Otley, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
