Надзвичайно цікаво!...Не часто контрабасисти діляться такими 'постановочними' фішками....!Інфо корисно всім!

Many years ago I was taught to dig the side of the bow hair in to the lower strings. Hmm, now I am going to try Ettorre's guidance, which is so *obviously explained ('There is a lot of hair on the bow. Use it'). Thank you! This may explain why my arco is so scratchy :-)

Great video! I would add that the advent of the bent endpin changed all of this.

Ciao Prof. Giuseppe. It is always a great honour to watch your lessons on this magnificient channel. It is not the first time I notice your arms are so fortunately long that you can actually touch the bridge. Certainly you have already noticed that almost no contrabassist is able to touch the bridge, I assume. In my particular case I cannot even do all the natural harmonics. For Bottesini I need to use the "artificial harmonics" with a floating thumb on the D string for the highest E D of the Concerto 2, for example. And I play on a 3/4 instrument. So I find it better to play in a sitting position, whenever I practice the solo pieces. Prof. Catalin Rotaru plays on a regular chair, using a tilted endpin. I am thinking of drilling a tilted hole to fit an angled endpin, for better bow weight. What are your thoughts about tilting the endpin?

A very useful video, but the camera balancing is pretty uncomfortable, it seems like we're on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Just a comment, you could try to avoid it.
