The drummer was the great Billy Lee Lewis. He sadly passed away from cancer on Nov 23 2015. A truly great dude!! R.I P Billy!! Miss ya brother!

Billy was the best iteration of the TC Band IMHO. Shad was the original and contributed so much to the early sound and groove, but Billy definitely was on a different level. Dang, almost a decade since he passed and this is the first I've heard of it. Just sad. ETA: Billy co-wrote this song (came up with the hook line IIRC). I remember seeing them perform this live (pre-Fillmore) and the chorus was immediately singable. Billy came up to me after the set and thanked me for singing along! LOL! This was so many years ago at Biscuits and Blues. What an awesome time for the blues in SF.

I finally got to see Tommy this past fall. What a fun show. I hope he comes back soon. Even my sister who played for the Omaha Symphony Orchestra for 30 years and others as well as being a music teacher sent me a message after I sent her this tune and her response shocked me. She usually doesn’t say much but with Tommy she told me she loved his music and sound. If you haven’t go see his band. If you’re lucky Deanna Bogart will be performing with him.
