This tommie Emmanuel has inspired me so much because he is more open than any other musician I've ever known or heard of I wish I had the opportunity to thank him for his honesty, he's really the best player I've ever heard

That was very interesting. I love arranging for guitar. I remember being in my twenties and hearing and seeing George Van Ebbs in person. After the show all I was able to think about was how did he do that ? To this day I don't think any record company captured the sound of George's guitar playing.

From 02:12 to 02:15, it reminds me of the swarmandal lick from "Strawberry Fields Forever"

Jose Feliciano also comes to mind in making good arrangements, would you agree Tommy? You are quite right to get the melody understood and accurate first, all hangs off that, ensuring it's not lost and shows due respect to the writer. Your tips are gold dust to music Tommy, thank you

Tommy and Joe Pass are the only people I can think of who make/made a living from solo guitar. (Excluding John Williams and a few other classical guitarists.) It takes a very special musician. I just wish he'd stop playing Classical Gas. Never liked that tune.Too portentous sounding. But I guess the public likes it a lot. Anyway I second God bless Tommy!

+paul harris Check out Michael Chapdelaine. Your ears will thank me. Smile. I don't like Classical Gas either. Damn Clapton giving everyone the wrong idea of classical guitar (not his song, but he popularized it....) David Russell is my favorite classical guitarist, ever listen to him?
