Tommy Johansson - Emerald (Thin Lizzy) Reaction

This is one of my favourite covers he has done, but then again all his Gary Moore covers are special. One can just feel Tommy's passion for Gary's music. Both of these guitars are exact replicas of the guitars Gary used, but Tommy did recently buy Gary's actual guitar. He made a video where he said how did he get it and also he used it in the cover of Murder In The Skies ( fantastic cover, definitely check it out). I also recommend Tommy's cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free

When I saw Gary in Thin Lizzy in the eighties he played a sunburst Gibson Les Paul. Not a Charvel Stratocaster model. But cool guitars! But I think he played a red Fender Strat when he was suporting act to Queen in 86 or 87. Could been a Charvel dont remember after to many beers, and far away from the scene. haha burp! Best concert I ever been to, with Rush last concert ever in my hometown! Love all Gary covers, he was a great inspire for me too as a guitar player back then. And Tommy can play exactly as Gary, he is fantastic to listen to, love Tommy bringing me back in time!

To me, this is a demonstration both of the musicianship of Tommy and his sense of humor. As for Majestica the have a whole concept album about Titanic and one about Christmas Carol that are highly enjoyable to listen to.

Another amazing band from Sweden is Evergrey. Prog metal with amazing vocals(Tom Englund) A good way to start the journey is Eternal.Nocturnal. Where august mourns is another great song. And an older spng is As i lie here bleeding 😊

Yes he just bought one of Gary Moore's guitars about a month ago and this cover was done quite a while before he got it so this is not THE guitar but he did "Murder in the Skies" a Gary Moore cover just after he got it and said... "Hope you will enjoy our tribute to Gary Moore, played on Gary Moore’s old guitar that he used between 1986-1989" in his comment on the song. He also dropped a video just to show off his new "baby". Check it out on his channel! I always have to put a plug in for my favorite Gary Moore cover "Over the Hills and Far Away", hope to hear you react to it! As far as Majestica goes, I love their "Above the Sky", but I recommend the OV because the sound on some of the live recordings isn't that good. ❤

Theese 2 guitars is replicas but he has a original Gary Moore guitar, the white one from the "Wild Frontier" album,
