TOMMY KAIRA: Legendary Japanese tuner turns up in Bangkok with ambition to build cars in Thailand!

Legendary Japanese tuner Tommy Kaira turned up at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show this month with big ambitions to build cars in Thailand!
That's the plan of Tommy Kaira together with Azapa, a Japanese company with EV knowledge, with the idea to convert the ZZI and ZZ2 to fit EV powertrains and produce them in markets outside of Japan, thanks to their production techniques.

Thanks Edd for showcasing this rare pieces. I’m sure it will definitely be a memorable moment sitting in the one and only ZZ2. But frankly coming from Japan and being the only one around, I was surprised that it’s a LHD car. 🤔🤙🙏

LHD surprised me too, as I believe the ZZ2 uses the same tub (or pretty much the same) as the ZZ)

It was supposed to come out to the public in 2001 for $500k but the dreams of owning one were gone since it never came out 😔

On the presentation screen the slide for the ZZIII seemed to be just an old cutaway of the ZZ, so I'm guessing they're referring ZZIII as their attempt to make the ZZ into an EV. I guess the idea hasn't progressed far as yet but they do seem to have an EV partner.
