What I hate about this fandom is how much hate Lizzie gets from a lot of people, and just for not being Grace. When all she did was being there for Tommy when no one else was and accepting what little love and attention he gave her. Tommy himself says at one point that, sometimes, she was the only thing helping him through his darkest times. Yet people say Lizzie is annoying and should disappear from the show 🙄 but worship Grace like she wasn’t a traitor and just as terrible as everyone else. For me, Lizzie is the true Queen of the show and more than deserves to stand next to Tommy.

100 % l agree . The actress did a phenomenal job portraying the trials & tribulations of a Mob wife! When she came out wielding her gun on Tommy because he’s always on some b.s with his scheming in S3 & S 5 then in S6 she took her gun again when she heard a loud a noise in the other room, but it was Tommy having a seizure & she put down her gun to assist him , I think the symbolism there was was very interesting! … Yeah, the h8 Lizzie gets is mind blowing

yes, their story it's so rich and complex, very human too. lizzie loved tommy entirely, right down to his broken and dark parts. from the very beginning she knew that he had nothing to offer her but money, since he was always in love with someone else (and i believe she herself was thinking of her social status) but she kept chasing after him and devoted herself completely, because for lizzie it was always inevitable: she loved him. while tommy always knew this and somehow tried to keep his distance but it always seemed impossible to shut lizzie out of his life completely. it's as if it was fate. you can't run from it. which makes me constantly think about how tommy might have been a little afraid of lizzie? because she was always able to see beyond what he would like people to see, and deep down, i think he knew that. he knew that if he let her in, lizzie could become so much more than his partner, friend and wife. she could become someone he loved. and that's exactly what happened 🥺❤️. i can only hope that tommy finds his way back to lizzie and they make up before the worst happens to tommy in the movie. btw, sorry for the long reply, i just LOVE to talk about tommylizzie 😭 ignore me. anyway, thank you so much for your comment ❤️.

She is the only one who has come this close to him because no one else understands him like she does, and he knows it. I too hope part of his redemption will to be the man she deserves and change as he promised her. I like that he felt guilty and regret regards to what he put her through - Diana, Ruby etc which is a progress for Tommy because before he never felt any of it, even start of the season he was sleeping with a sex worker and casually talking to Lizzie. And Lizzie being upset that he is not fighting her leaving him is also a key point despite everything. Hoping for lessons learned and move towards something positive between them. Need them to be happy, they deserve it more than anyone, they have gone through hell. It will be so wholesome to see that unfold in the movie. It's the end of the saga, just let them be happy SK!

yes! their relationship it's so complex and rich, idk how to explain this but they have an understanding of each other... while tommy tried to keep his distance, somehow him and her development a strong connection trough seasons, like it was inevitable for him to keep her far from his mind. after polly, i believe lizzie it's the only characther who knows tommy deeply. i'm crossing my fingers to see more of them in the peaky movie.

Lizzie’s love language is victimhood. I feel so bad for her. This woman had so much potential, could have lived an “ordinary” , comfortable life in a truly loving relationship where she would be the number one with Angel but her wings got clipped and burnt by the Shelby men ! The Shelby men put Grace’s “honor” above Lizzie whom they had known all their lives because they did not want Lizzie to come to Grace’s wedding with an ltalian man… where was grace when all this b.s about who is invited and who isn’t was going on? It was her wedding after all wasn’t it ? Changretta senior even vouched for Lizzie and went to defend her honor when no one else would , only to be knocked down as well with devastating consequences on the entire family ! I feel like Lizzie trauma bonded with Tommy and they developed a codependency. If anyone is going through anything like this in real life, Please get help, l’m glad she got out ! She deserved so much better! Her character really grew on me in season 5 .

That's why she remind Linda, before nothing happen he will died without his eyes. It's so cruel but if she leave her job that time doesn't mean they will not searching for her because she is company director that time, she is important to them. What a wonderful video this is and I agree with others the great thing about Tommy and Lizzie's love is the fact it's not perfect which makes it seem even more real somehow. Lizzie is such a strong woman, she knows he will not love her like he did Grace, but she accepts it and makes the most of it. That takes real courage. Those scenes when Ruby dies are just heartbreaking. This is a lovely put together video which shows the best of Tommy and Lizzie.

People should stop disproportionately attacking the character of Lizzie. They talk as if she is Thomas' "defeat", just for not accepting that he has remarried. They should recognize how important she was to him, and it's no use saying that Lizzie meant nothing to Thomas, because the creator of the series (Steven Knight) himself said that he came to love his wife and that his children were the reason for him to continue, these words are on the official website, referring to the 5th season of the show, for anyone who wants to read it. I remember the car scene, where Tommy offered her money and she said, "Your brother is ten times the man you are." She's definitely right. I wonder if Lizzie ended up with John instead of Tommy. John loved her from the very start, whereas Tommy loved her the very last minute. Lizzie couldn't fight for him anymore. This time, she reached her limit, and decided to choose herself after years of putting Tommy above anyone else. Back then I used to love them so much. But in season 6, I don't know, I still love them but I can't help but to feel bad about Lizzie. I was happy she left him, my joy doubled when Charles chose her over his father. At that moment, Lizzie was chosen. As if Charles knew that his mom needs him, and he needs her too. If his father couldn't stand for her, Charles will. After all they've been through, all Lizzie wants is for Tommy to 'let her in' and he never did, actually. Idk what the fuck is wrong with him but her never let her in, even after he said 'i love you'. "When I know everything, I will tell you everything" is a lie. Lizzie wants to know what the fck is going on and again, he shut her up by telling that. If Ruby didn't come to rescue him, Lizzie will never know what Tommy knows, because he's ready to off himself. So his promise will never come true. "Lit the fire again, get warm, and you'll see" I believe Ruby came to rescue him (Not John, Polly, or Grace) because she's also after her mom and brother. It's like she's telling Tommy that 'you have to live to finish your business and to tell mum and Charles everything they have to know. You have to live, daddy, for me and for them' and that got me rooting for a reconciliation for Tommy and Lizzie in the movie. If Tommy couldn't give Lizzie the love she wants, at least he owes her an apology. To Charles, also.

I REALLY hated tommy for constantly cheating on lizzie and putting her through so much pain. Like charles said 'he's just never there.' He wasn't even there when his daughter passed away, even after the funeral was just over lizzie needed him the most but his plan to take 'revenge' couldn't fucking wait. And Grace would have constantly pushed him to leave the illegitimate business, which Tommy never intended to leave for good (in S3E2 he gave the order to take on against the Changretta restaurants, he never intended to give upon his gangster boss status in Birmingham). I think, it would have caused conflicts with Grace in the long run, if she would have lived on. Lizzy knew and accepted Tommy with everything: as a gangster boss, as the business man, as a politician, all of it as a whole. Shame, Tommy could not give her the true love which Lizzy deserved.

Lizzie is better! Lizzie accepted him for who he was and who he couldn’t be. She knew he’d never give her love she gave, but accepted it until she couldn’t. She went into that relationship eyes wide open and he respected her for it; he just didn’t know when to stop pushing. Maybe he thought she stick through anything, but everyone has a limit. I did not dislike Grace, only the pedestal people had placed her upon. I believed people were caught up in Thomas Shelby’s dream of who he could have been along side Grace. He would have left the family business, and would have pursued a legitimate avenue for revenue. He would have been more present in Charles day-to-day activity. Therefore, I believed their investment in Thomas’ ideal self was one of the causes of this division. Now let’s speak about the brutally honest Tommy we had seen him be with Lizzie. To his very core he was a human being with flaws. There was too much weight, of being unfit, being placed on Lizzie for simply accepting Tommy for who he was, and I wonder if the problem people had about her was simply the fact that she was not curated from high society. I read one comment from a post about how Grace saved his life but Lizzie gave him bullets. I loved the fact that Grace saved him, in the manner that I loved how Lizzie told him to straighten his shit out. They had both loved him, but there were moments when tough love was needed. Lizzie loved Tommy and she would have never wanted him to actually killed himself, let’s try not lose all common rationlale.

I would argue with Tommy giving up his gangster boss role of Birmingham for Grace. Then in S3E2 he would not given a harsh order to take over the Changretta restaurants. I think, this scene is a sole proof, that Tommy intended to carry on with his dark businesses too - he would not have given up the power of the gangster boss of Birmingham, what he already achieved.
