I always thought he was very exhibitionist. Just roar out loud and jump about. I'm not sure if his interiew show really does show people he hasn't met b4 the interview. This might be just pretending to not having met them. We could all just sit there and stare deeply at the interviewee while they spoke.

@@redbirdsaraceno I always woke up like that. I'm the worst morning person. I used to sit at the kitchen table before school, just staring at the wall, half asleep! After a few minutes of that, my mother would spend the next half hour trying to get me to eat something before school. I have 3 kids and 2 are just like me. The one that isn't is like my Dad. He wakes up early on his days off from school and rarely needs to be woken up for school. When he does, he jumps right out of bed and gets ready right away! His roommate and younger brother, takes a full hour most days to get out of bed and wake up. Both of my non morning people kids look as my mother would say, "like the wreck of the hespris" (whatever that means! Lol) or "who did it and ran", every morning. Every morning, I'm sure that I do too, but since I get up before them, have my "stare at the wall" time, have coffee, and turn on the news to get my mind going...nobody notices! Lol

I recall being told to quieten up when I was in the States on work assignment. It appears that small town Americans do not like loud talk because it usually leads to violence or fights. This disturbs them. Many, but not all, Irish people talk loudly, especially in large groups or in noisy settings such as workshops and factories where in other countries people will take their conversations outside the noisy area in order to communicate detailed instructions effectively. This tendency towards quiet conversation falls apart in the big cities such as NY or Boston and is quite striking in the difference.
