A friend of mine was a general practitioner and he quit due to alcoholism, but he told me that’s what pharmaceuticals companies would do. Send him samples of their drugs along with very nice gifts. It’s a dirty business.

We need all colors banned, I was taking a vitamin B suppliment and it was a pill you swallow, I noticed I would be so anxious when I took it, it had yellow 5 in it. I only found out because I read yellow causes anxiety and I looked at the ingredients in that pill, I only knew because my urine would be bright yellow after taking it. A doctor would have given me anxiety meds instead of singling out the dyes. That shouldnt even be a thing!

My confectionery company exports products to USA from Turkey. Do you know that we are not allowed to use natural colorants in our products? Someone lied to you, someone told you false information unknowingly,, or you're lying to us. As I prefer to operate on good faith first, I assume it is not the former. 1. The US does not ban the importation of foodstuffs made from natural sources. That claim is completely false. 2. The US does have standards on purity and processing of natural sourced dyes from anywhere foreign or domestic, yet none are flat out listed as unapproved, ie. banned. For a natural dye (or *any* color additive) to be used in products sold in the United States, it must be approved or listed as “exempt from certification” by the FDA. This approval process ensures that the dye meets safety and purity requirements. Even if a dye is derived from natural sources, its method of extraction, processing, or potential contaminants can affect whether it meets U.S. standards. Much of this is ensuring that someone isn't creating an artificial dye using natural sources in an attempt to get around labeling requirements on synthetic dyes or fraudulent listing natural dyes that are in fact synthetic. This is true both for foreign and domestic producers. Importers must ensure that *any* food dyes used-whether natural or synthetic-are listed as permitted by the FDA and that the product complies with all labeling and safety requirements. Adequate documentation (such as certificates of analysis or compliance with specific FDA regulations) may be required to demonstrate that the additives meet U.S. standards. Here are a couple example to drive home what it means. There have been documented cases where turmeric-used both as a spice and a natural colorant-was found to contain lead chromate. This is a case of adulteration during processing, where unsafe substances were added to improve color intensity. Turmeric is a natural colorant, but when manufacturers add non-food-grade substances to enhance its brightness or weight, the end product can become unsafe. This, however, is not a failure of the natural dye itself but rather an intentional adulteration to cut costs or alter appearance.Thus the use of turmeric as a dye does require certification to show good processes and the lack of lead chromate via robust quality testing and ongoing certification. Other examples include paprika, chili powders, or annatto extracts, which have had issues in various cases. These issues are usually related to environmental contamination or inadequate quality control during processing rather than a fundamental issue with the dye itself. Now as to the EU, they take a different approach to the same problem. They take the approach of generating a pre-approved list, and leave any QA followup to the member states, who typically are not very enthusiastic about ensuring quality. So as long as you report an ingredient, such as say Turmeric or paprika, and those are on a pre-approved list, you can reasonably expect approval and a lack of ensuring there is o adulteration or contamination in your manufacturing process. Meanwhile, the US wants to make sure. So your claim about "only allows artificial colorants" is patently false, and whomever told you that is either lying or equally ignorant of the actual regulations. In either case, I'd recommend finding a different importer, and be prepared to certify to the standard what your processes are and a QA system to prove things are not going sideways.

I don’t understand why so many people say that the government does not care about the health of our people. You realize the health agencies dole out hundreds of millions of dollars each year to physicians to do research and clinical trials with the goal of improving national health? If you’re talking about obesity and things of that nature, the surgeon general warned that this was an issue in the past. The reality is that we live in a free society so the government can’t make adults go for a jog or hit the gym. Americans are also free to eat whatever it is they want. If you’re arguing you want to limit preservatives in food and things like that, that is a regulatory matter, which is ironic, given that President Trump seems to be focused on deregulating things rather than putting more regulations in place. I don’t know what else to say. If you want corporations to have less power over congress, you should write to your Congressman and say you disagree with the Citizens United Supreme Court case and want him or her to introduce legislation saying that Corporations cannot contribute to political campaign funds, which should drastically limit corporate influence on all political matters (including things that affect Americans’ health). Sadly, I doubt any Congressman has the guts to take such action.

My 2-year-old grandson was well-behaved. He was calm and loving. He could talk well. He was behind on his vaccines. So the brilliant nurses at the health dept. decided to catch him up at one time. Two nurses gave him shots in both legs at the same time. He stopped talking. He didn't want to cuddle. He would get hyper, hide under the table and scream. I know it was the vaccines. Maybe because they gave them all at one time. Or it could have happened anyway. They took my darling, precious grandson away from me. He's much older now, but he is still not right. He doesn't think a 'normal' girl will go out with him. He's very good-looking, tall, kind, and loving. But he doesn't think he is normal. I cry every time I remember that day.

Not to minimize your sad set of circumstances with your grandson, but you yourself wrote “Or it could have happened anyway.” ADD manifests itself when kids are a little older. Doctors won’t prescribe medication to help with the behaviors you’re seeing until age 5, but it his parents will consider the possibility that their son has ADD, certain medications may help him, regulate his emotions. Medications alone typically aren’t sufficient. It may be beneficial to do some behavioral therapy. Google “bug in ear” behavioral therapy to learn more. Basically, a parent or adult listens to a psychiatrist through a “bug in the ear” (think Apple AirPod), who gives the adult instruction while the adult is interacting with the child. The psychiatrist “coaches” the adult by providing tips on how to interact and model good behavior with the child who may be introverted or impatient, etc. I couldn’t tell from your message how old your grandson is now. The “bug in ear” therapy is for younger children. I hope this was helpful!

The pretty sexy rep that comes in every two weeks with cakes for staff - paid by pharma. The donation to their new equipment - paid by pharma. Doctors get maybe a 10 min brief on a specific med that is being sold by the rep, and a cheat sheet of what it treats. Then they aggressively promote it to patients. They never, not once, ask for the safety studies, the list of side effects, or the research.

Nothing is being done about the overall health of the American people, it's just give them a pill, send them back to work. It's pretty sick when there are so many Billboards as well, like I remember seeing one from a hospital that stated, let us cure your cancer. I don't have cancer and others with medication ads on them. This is a sick industry literally. This is the problem with health insurance as well, as long as the insurance companies are willing to pay for the medications, they can jack them up in price as much as they want. It's no different than over priced colleges and financial aid.

There is solid psychological research that much of the medical ads we see are having a positive effect, such as increasing the efficacy of the placebo effect and reducing interest in those drugs rather than increasing them on a net basis. The latter part mainly due to listing all the side effects, of course. ;) But the influence over "news" channels the large ad campaigns have is out of hand. Unfortunately banning them won't solve that problem. The people running those companies, media and pharmacy, are hooked on it so they will simply find another way too advertise and keep the flow going. Add to that the loss of benefits we get from those ads as mentioned above, it would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I listened to a mother and father complain about their young son who wasn't paying attention to his homework and taking forever to complete. They were discussing using a drug used on children, commonly, for attention deficit. I mentioned that their son was probably just bored with the subject. Instead of allowing the child to investigate a subject that interested him, they drugged him. I knew, from being forced to learn useless things as a child, that this was the wrong decision. One of the most intelligent things that my parents ever did for me was tell me that I was I was not allowed to do homework for more than half an hour and that I didn't have to get A in every subject. This was basically a counter order to the original attitude that they had instilled in me from birth.

I hope RFK is appointed and gets to the bottom of ADD and ADHD. Some commenters are saying that the belt should be used more which shows their lack of experience, empathy and understanding of the problem. My son was overly active in the womb and had the umbilical cord wrapped around him four times when he was born. I would hope that RFK would also look into supplements being given to pregnant mothers as a possible cause.

The US does have a problem with overprescription, and with poor quality, highly processed food. Belting children with a strap didn't fix them either, it was just pure abuse. But RFK Jnr DID go to preach in Samoa and WAS responsible for turning people off measles vaccination. People, including chikdren, died. And they did die from measles. NO tissue samples were sent to Australia and New Zealand to be tested. He has some good points about reforming the drug and food industries but he himself is not the man to take this reform forward. He is a liar.

As teachers, we started to see a trend that more kids, mostly boys, of single moms were getting diagnosed as ADHD and given drugs. Mostly we just saw kids who were not meant to spend 6 hours a day in a room at a desk.

we also didn’t start school until the age of 6 instead of 4 today. Children, especially boys, are not developmentally ready for a sit down school environment until they are older. We didn’t have mandatory kindergarten, and when we did do private kindergarten, it was half days. The truth is, many boys could benefit from waiting until age 7 or 8 before beginning formal schooling.

I went through an extensive battery of tests-neuropsych, IQ and neuro imaging(PET, MRI, CAT, etc…)-before I was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome with ADHD and OCD. Nowadays, it seems like any kid who is caught daydreaming in a boring class is getting doped up! Thus, a lot of these kids are becoming addicts all for the sake of making the honor roll, or Dean’s List.
