This was the most pivotal song in my childhood. This song separated "your parents music" from the music you realized you love and your parents didnt! I grew up to be obsessed with Punk and Hard Rock/Metal music but Hip Hop has always owned 30% of my mind, compared to the 35% punk and rock each own on my mind. So I grew up to get a degree in music production, engineering and recording. I play guitar, bass gtr, piano, drums and I run the sound boards at all kinds of concert venues for rock, hip hop & every other kinda live music. But no matter what, OPP takes me back to an amazing time of self discovery, in my young and seemingly exploding life, in the summer of 1991!
@flipkiller85212 жыл бұрын
Great job for having an open mind. I grew up listening to Hip-Hop then I discovered Heavy Metal/Rock. Up to this day, I listen to both genres with no problem. And I'm not afraid to admitting to being a fan of both NWA, Eminem, Public Enemy, Notorious B.I.G and Black Sabbath, Korn, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica.

It seems to me that it's about the same speed that an auctioneer would use during an auction but they're not stating their verbage so clearly. That should be the new standard. If you're going to be an auctioneer you better be able to speak this clearly because you can keep those made up words to yourself. So smooth.

It was the perfect combination of people can make it and people trying to make it, now with technology we get both people who should not really make it making it and people who otherwise may not but are good being brought to our attention but also so many people making it that less of those who should try because they either think they wont because of how flooded the market is or because they think someone else will do it and what they have is not that special or different

I had just graduated from High School when this song came out. I was working at Denny's (graveyard shift). The cooks would turn up the radio to jam out to this song.

Same i graduated ‘91 too and i remember this track my first semester of college fall of ‘91 it was being blasted all over the dorm rooms- i can totally see why this one would be blasted on the work shift at a denny’s or waffle house- it definitely has that working late at the diner vibe 👍
