This was the most pivotal song in my childhood. This song separated "your parents music" from the music you realized you love and your parents didnt! I grew up to be obsessed with Punk and Hard Rock/Metal music but Hip Hop has always owned 30% of my mind, compared to the 35% punk and rock each own on my mind. So I grew up to get a degree in music production, engineering and recording. I play guitar, bass gtr, piano, drums and I run the sound boards at all kinds of concert venues for rock, hip hop & every other kinda live music. But no matter what, OPP takes me back to an amazing time of self discovery, in my young and seemingly exploding life, in the summer of 1991!
@flipkiller85213 жыл бұрын
Great job for having an open mind. I grew up listening to Hip-Hop then I discovered Heavy Metal/Rock. Up to this day, I listen to both genres with no problem. And I'm not afraid to admitting to being a fan of both NWA, Eminem, Public Enemy, Notorious B.I.G and Black Sabbath, Korn, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica.

Geoffrey is down with OPP, and so was the house, it was shaking with the groove lol! Fresh Prince had seriously good rap, the laid back, funky, groovy stuff. Never heard these in the 90s for some reason except in Fresh Prince, am liking it. De La Soul and the Beastie Boys were my jam, but this is cool too. Why isn't rap like this any more?

Same i graduated ‘91 too and i remember this track my first semester of college fall of ‘91 it was being blasted all over the dorm rooms- i can totally see why this one would be blasted on the work shift at a denny’s or waffle house- it definitely has that working late at the diner vibe 👍

This was the first parental advisory audio cassette tape I ever had. I remember thinking I was so cool because I had an audio tape with swearing. One day when I was at school my parents took the tape and listened to it. They decided it was too vulgar and took it away. Months later I would find out my father was listening to it in his car. When he would get mad at my mother he would literally start reciting stuff from the songs. It was fantastic! He would say things like one mother f*****, two mother f******, three, and guard your grill Knuckle Up! He would never actually get violent. I think it was just the Italian humor in him. Ahhh I miss the 90s...

Dude, That's really awesome... Bet when you became a little older you and your father both jammed out to that song (and others) together. Music is my D.O.C. It falls riiiight under *Micro-dosing psilocybin...* That shit will literally allow you to reach enlightenment... Oh and study today are showing that it also literally helps *repair the human brain,* both mentally AND physically. No joke. It's also in the testing stages for being a cure for "Major depressive disorder, Making people able to quit hard drugs, cigarettes and alcoholism and treatment for a whole host of other disorders and aliments... I can personally confirm that it save my friends life from Major depression. He's alive and happy now... *Sorry,* I really got off onto a tangent, but, hey, If you thought what I said about psilocybin was interesting and want to know more check out Paul Stamets on "The Joe Rogan Experience", oh and the clinical trials and hundreds of articles and scientific papers on psilocybin are also interesting to read about... Do you invest you money into the market? I do and I'm betting that I'm going o make a killing in about 3-5 years when psilocybin is predicted to be prescribed as a medicine for TR-MMD (or TRD).
