वैसे तो रफ़ी साहब,की यह खूबी थी कि वह अपनी आवाज़ सभी से हूबहू मैच कर देते थे,और ऐसी कला आज तक किसी में भी देखने को नहीं मिली,मगर शम्मी कपूर जैसे चंचल अदा के मालिक से तो जैसे उनकी आवाज़ ऐसे मिल जाती थी,कि किसी भी गाने में यह लगेगा ही नहीं कि यह गाना रफ़ी साहब जैसा,सीधा-शरीफ़ व्यक्ति गा रहा होगा,लगता था शम्मी कपूर जी खुद ही गा रहे हैं। शम्मी कपूर की कामयाबी में रफ़ी साहब का बहुत बड़ा योगदान रहा।
