If we consider the message of the song, there is not enough screaming.

This song was written by Tom. He played in it too. the entire album was actually written by Tom. And this song (as some others too) is about how he is coping with his imminent death. He was struggling with cancer for three years and he was aware his time was coming to an end. He is taking the spiritual route, meaning he will accept death as it's the natural course of all things in existence, and that will bring him peace ("let me live and die in peace"), not fear or sorrow. he still has his doubts though (is your life worth dying for?") meaning he would worry if he did everything he could, did he fulfill his existence, but he goes back to saying (the universe survives on give and take) meaning it doesn't matter what you think you should have lived for, the nature and the universe is within all of us and we cannot go against it. I also really like this verse "When my heart skips two beats .The sea will part, where oceans meet. Finally complete" such a powerful visual. when his heart fails, death comes, and then this beautiful visual of nature's most life-giving being. The ocean. water. the flow of life. but still represented as death. one can't be without the other. he will be complete with the two, closing his chapter of life. The spoken part was by a philospher Allan Watts. He was one of the first people to present Eastern philosophy to the western world. from Hinduism to Taoism, ying yang, all of it. he talked a lot about the existence and universe, that's why he fits so well in this song. sorry for the long message. and thanks for your reaction, nice to see your appreciation!

Check out the new album, ‘For those who wish to exist’, less screaming but still pretty heavy in parts and as total piece of work it’s a brilliant.album

I'll be your substitute professor today ;] Newer Architects is much more pop-like and accessible. I can see the screaming being too much as per how your music journeys been going, but I mean for the scene and everything this aint shit hehe. This would be in the territory of metalcore, You have rock, which then led to punk rock, then hardcore came from the punk movement. Very fast, intense, and often the lyrics are all harsh, but more of the shout, not the low guttural growl. You'd have to hear something like Descendants - I like food, or Minor Threat - Straight Edge.. both songs are suuuuper short and will be a key frame of the classic hardcore sound. Going into the 2010s metalcore had a huge explosion with bands like Killswitch Engage. Metalcore adds a ton more harmonies and has been one of the biggest scenes in modern music since. Metalcore likes to use silence and spacing a lot to create pulses. The notes coming in after the mutes have huge punch to them, and they go really nutty when they get into their breakdowns. "djent" can be very similar, but many don't consider djent a subgenre, just a guitar playing technique. To me djent bands are either prog or metalcore. You do a palm mute on a 7+ string guitar and get this really low end clang that goes "djent djent djent." Haters of djent really can't stand the guitar being used rhythmically lol, but again, think Spiritbox, or even that part at the end of Dream The Dead by Caliguals Horse, where everything was syncopated around the rhythmic playing. Alright allllrright I've said enough lmao, but I thought i'd break all this down for ya!

The two albums after Tom were fantastic. I like holy hell a lot more than for those who wish to exist but I recommend both

I think the screams suits the song. But you should listen to last album, of you like less screaming.
