Hi Paul, that is a very nice example of an American class loco. Mehano did a very nice job with the detail as well. Just goes to show that 3 pole motors can do a very good job performance wise. When you talk about affordability, it was important as i remember reading IHC really put the squeeze on Rivarossi and Mehano price wise. Sometimes the quality of some locos could suffer, but obviously not in this case. That is a very nice runner. Steven.

Hi Steven, after buying my first Mehano 4-6-2, I was amazed at how well they were made and ran. I have been collecting them ever since. My Mountain Express is an amazing puller and again well made. I am very happy with this 4-4-0 and was lucky to find it at a great price, they are not often seen for sale in the UK. All my Mehano Steamers have 3 pole can motors which are very smooth. I have one old 0-4-0 with the open frame motor that is quite rough running. I like the detailing and matt black finish much better than some high end Locos. I will keep a look out for any other Mehano Steamers that were made. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
