Thank you for the honest feedback! Takes a lot of courage to be honest in a board review nowadays! Everyone I watch is overwhelmingly positive, which defeats the purpose of actually reviewing a board. I know the lack of constructive criticism comes from not wanting to trash a shaper or lose a sponsorship. But honest transparent feedback is essential! Thank you! On another note, Do you feel the lightness of the helium construction came into play? If I remember correctly, the Gamma has a stringer and has a little more weight compared to other helium boards. Love hearing feedback from people who rip. Cheers!

Love the Evo, i’ve one made in TimbeTeck and it’s my best board for small-medium waves here in Argentina. Great review and channel !!

So I can't speak on the helium construction but I can speak on the LFT Evo, which I own and love more than any board I've ever had for Southern California. I'm 5'11 tall and weigh 148-150lbs and ride the 5'0 23.1L stock Evo. I think you are making a mistake on board size and that could be the reason why it feels sluggish on your bottom turns. I always ride mine as a thruster, I didn't like how it felt as a quad it actually felt slower to me for some reason. I'd suggest selling that thing and getting the 5'0 and would be very interested to hear your thoughts on that. It seems as though the cymatic you reviewed was also a bit too big. Keep up the shredding bra I dig these honest reviews!

Kyle Bouquet I'm 5'9 tall and 155 punds, so I knew for a fact that my limit in liters are 25.5 So I'm surprised that you could ride with such a light board. How could you?

I think the trick with these tomos is riding them as short as possible. When I first got my evo I wasn't convinced I'd be able to surf a 5'0 but after one session my whole perspective was changed. I've ridden it in 10ft face pointbreak surf and the thing still handles like a dream. I think because of the modern planing hull design along with the firewire constructions, the 23.1L in LFT to me feels like it paddles and floats like a board with a liter or two more. As long as you can paddle it well enough to get into waves then it should go well even if it's much smaller than anything you would think possible to ride.

Hi Kylem what is your volume for a regular shape? On traditional boards i ride from 25.7 to 27 liters, so not sure if a 5'1 EVO at 24.5 would be too low, also how old are you? I am over 40 so even though i am fit i don't have the paddle power of a 20 yr old hehe. i am 45yrs old,145lbs (64-66kilos) and 5'4

I had a 5’2 helium evo as well and i had issues with it as well. I think the problem is that board is too wide and the helium tech flexes too much!! I even think the 5’1 is a little wide, but the dims on the 5’1 are much better. Thanks for being honest mate!! Let’s shred soon! 🤙 yewwww!!!

I never liked this template and Daniel's video has him on one too small and the dynamics seem off. I'm a big fan of others like the Cymatic.

If your sponsored by firewire Australia then why wouldn't then send you 3-5 helium evos in the size you want?!?! Considering you said you had 15 in left. Which you obviously didn't buy with your own money. Sounds like tomo won't be shaping any custom boards for you grom!!!
