Extremely nostalgic. I played this a TON throughout it's life span on PS4. When I saw they announced a sequel last year and it was 3rd person, I was convinced they wouldn't manage to nail the gameplay, especially the team kills. It'd be WAY to easy to not kill your team mates in 3rd person... Please don't look at the number of my accidentals. As much as I love HD1, I do think for the majority of things... HD2 is far and a way better. The few things missing would be the weapon level up skills, medic pack and cape twirl trophy.

The propaganda piece at the start of the game (both games) never gets old... It's so ridiculously on the nose, and Team America is the only other thing which comes close... It's neck and neck for me. Superb. Anyway, this was awesome and I think you appreciate HD2 more after watching this.... We don't get many games like this now and I actually love the top-down style. The game still looks great because it's such a less power-hungry style of game development than 3D environment FPS shooters and not reliant on having a flagship GPU to look good or run smoothly. You could tell me this was released this year and I'd believe you. Cheers for playing it, Tom. Merry Christmas...

Helldivers 1 is just as good as Helldivers 2 it’s just that top down is not as popular as third person so it didn’t get as many players

Helldivers 3 would be on a better engine n up to date... 3 will be insane. Seeing how well hd2 is on an outdated engine.

Gameplaywise I prefer Helldivers 2 tbh.. It's mainly the limited field of view of this 1st version I do not like as much.. It does force teamplay way more though since you cannot split up..
