I still remember my first time watching this anime and I was really shocked with how relatable it was, no other anime character compares to Tomoko. It’s incredible how much she feels like a real person and not just a bunch of tropes shoved into a empty hollow shell and then given the title of ‘main character’ She really is a character to be admired and respected.

The thing I love about Watamote the most is that the main character can be easily relatable. Think about even once in our life we felt depressed, background nobody and wanted to be like other cool people or felt jealous of them. Some of us are gamers, a weeb, an otaku or probably depressed. Tomoko reminds me of myself. My friends try to get my confidence up but I'm stuck where tomoko is. I've grown up with people hating me for my mistakes and different personality. In kindergarten I was always by myself. I didn't have any true friends until the next year. Then he just started ignoring me. I didn't have friends again until 5th grade.

He is a weeb , the kind that everyone hates , he watches anime in class , he watches anime while having food , he keeps watching anime all the time and that is why it is difficult to interact with him . But unlike Tomoko this guy has absolutely no intention of interacting with anyone ever . Our teacher actually told the class she likes his guts bcz one day this guy was late to class and instead of standing outside while waiting for the teacher to let u in he just went to the canteen ,ordered some food and started watching anime. The best part is , idk how this guy pulls it off but he actually has decent grades . I think he is some kind of a genius and if you spend more time with him your grades will fall ( and I'm from India so if my grades fall my parents will kick my ass ) . The only reason he talks to me is bcz i watch a lot of anime . Today we interact for like 30 min a day and I'd like to think we are good buddies
