Took me through several years journey, many years ago to figure out the origin of this song, so in case someone are looking. This is track 8 from LWBL-001 Little Wing B-Infinity Boys Character Only Image Arrangement Album. Listed as "It disappears in summer". The track is actually a remix from CD2 of GMSL-0004 AIRness - BEST SOUND of GameMusicLibrary Special "Summer Shadow -AIRness-" (someone already uploaded that version to KZbin some years ago). For this remix track, the booklet list Takamaru as the Arrangement & Recording Engineer. Chata is listed in the vocal section, but no track number were listed.

This piece... It is a combination of so many different emotions present throughout the story: the sense of mystery in the tune at the beginning. The innocence and loneliness of Misuzu, whilst a beautiful approach to the world. The warmth of summer, and her funny and cute attempts to make friends. The calm raining of her soul, and a search for happiness, reliance, and belonging. And a bittersweet finding of this goal in tragic peace.

Finished watching Air just yesterday. Stupid me actually thought "Air in Summer" was a sequel, so I was sure of a happy ending. Needless to say I had an open-mouthed expression of "Why is this happening? This CAN'T be happening!" during the last minutes of the final episode, along with a constant stream of tears running down my face. Now, to learn that Misuzu's voice actress also died far too young, while listening to this hauntingly beautiful song along with pictures of Misuzu... my feels, they are in pieces. I can hardly see the screen. I'll have to watch super silly romcoms for the next three months to recover from this. GAO! :(

I was so sad when Kawakami Tomoko died (sadness amplified by tenfolds when I was listening to Aozora), but whenever I hear this song it seems as though she's still alive, as if she was talking to me, from somewhere... Maybe that's what people mean by "being eternally alive in someone's heart and memory"

@necrophadian Just like Misuzu, she died young. It is truly heartbreaking. Now when I look at Misuzu, I'm going to be thinking of everything Kawakami has done for the anime/game world. Just like her, she did everything with a smile on her face.

MakenKale Now that I'm listening closely, I can hear Chata's voice. Even so, Tomoko Kawakami is listed in my staff list (of the Air OST key special album)...probably a typo since I've downloaded the album mentioned above and it's really this same song.

Sheridan Mann Let me guess, you don't know how Chata sounds, right? I have listened to this song like 100 of times as I have transcribed/translated it and what I can say for sure is that it's Chata. Also, speaking by experience, I have 62 songs with her as vocalist and I'm pretty good at recognizing voices. Don't wanna start an argument though, so I don't care if people mistake her. But there are actually two people in this song, Chata having the leading voice and Haruka Shimotsuki as chorus, just saying.

Does anybody know the exact album this is from? I can't find it on any of the official AIR soundtracks.
