Just to clear up something possibly inaccurate in my last post. Tomo "graduated" AKB48 prior to the unspoken expected age of 25. My assumption is she did it voluntarily, to pursue a solo path, rather than being pressured. Her momentous graduation ceremony lit up Tokyo.

Tomomi Itano was enormously popular in Japan, even actually worshiped by many people, but had to retire from the troupe she was in as girls turned women are supposed to do. For years I have adored her performances on KZbins. In fact, I like Tomo's performances more than I have liked any others in my 70 years on this planet. I do hope she catches on as a soloist in America, where I live. Americans for the most part, however, don't get J-pop.
