Except for the briefing in M's car, I wish the film-makers had included all of the other deleted scenes. They're wonderful, and I don't feel as though they take up any extra time. "Casino Royale" is a long film, but it still works because the entire movie is good. Same would have been true with these scenes added back to "Tomorrow."
@DM-kv9kj2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... Casino Royale's good, but it's still way too long. At the very least all that airport chase stuff near the start of the movie could easily have been cut right out and the screenplay tweaked to make it just the quiet Bahamas gambling/seduction and then murder scene(s). To be honest, all that parkour chase stuff was way too long and the movie feels very bloated and the action sequences forced in for the sake of it. In all honesty actually, I always found the whole poker thing to be SUPER cheesy and felt very immature. All the extras at the table might as well have been cardboard cutouts of cartoon characters as they added absolutely nothing whatsoever to the game or story - in the novel, the other players at the Chemin de Fer table are rich with character, backgrounds and things to say and do. The dealer looked like a children's party magician. All the endless waffling on about "tells" is really amateurish/childish - professional poker players don't talk like that - ie, "Aha! Didn't you notice? He has a TELL!" 🙄 Another big gripe I have with CR, thinking about it, is the whole finale in Venice. It just feels out of place, forced in and tacked on for the sake of a big building set piece which all feels very much like a choreographed set piece rather than a desperate chase and shootout. James Bond is wearing some really weird chavs tracksuit that looks cheap and awful too. Oh, and while it was a cool idea and I wanted to like it, the pre-title sequence in black and white just feels off and tacky. A 00 would not be sent to murder a section chief for corruption...he'd merely be arrested. He's also 100% notice the MASSIVE difference in weight between a loaded pistol and one with the whole magazine removed. You don't even need to be some highly trained professional to notice that, about half the weight of a pistol is in the loaded magazine and the difference on picking one up with a hollow grip is blatant. The dialogue there, as in some other parts, also feels extremely cheesy and "choreographed", rather than cool and natural. Probably my last major problem with Royale is the title song. I loved Chris Cornell, but I detest that song, not only as a rock song in itself but moreso as a Bond song - it's just flat, his voice doesn't work, the composition is repetitive and annoying and the lyrics are terrible.

I disagree that the playing card stunt in the beginning of these clips didn't fit the film. It addes a dimension to the villian instead of just seeing him sitting at a computer.

Wow, Gumpter was originally a really Bad-dude! I'm Glad the intent of the scene between Carver and Paris excluded his SENDING her to Bond. The Jealous husband angle worked better. The edit of Carver telling the story works better. Instead of crashing the Q-car, Bond should have used it to sneak up behind the pursuers and slam them off the roof. Perhaps they could have fallen neatly upside down onto a 'crushed-vehicle' truck as it passed the building. Just a thought.
