The first time I saw Hedges he was playing this song. It was some PBS oddity show in 1985. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Michael Hedges was friends with some folks I know here in St. Augustine FL. He used to come visit them. I had a CD of his Live. I admired his authentic style. I was shocked when I heard he was killed in an auto accident. I do pray there's a better world somewhere after this one

Randy that is such a gift you have footage of, really the whole archive you did of those years. It's an add'l gift that Will connected with all of them and gave a chance at a time when the record industry was in it's latter stages and the net world was being birthed. Really nice to see all Michael, Darol, Michael M and Todd in their younger years. Particularly with Michael H no longer with us thanks for publishing all you documented in those years. Very sweet sir!

I remember the first time I heard anything from Michael was on a flight home from Florida to NH in January of "91" and the music playing in the complimentary headphones was touting Windham Hill and in particular Michael Hedges. Later that year I was singing and playing bass in a very busy band and we were playing in Wolfeboro and I saw Taproot for sale in a quaint CD and book shop with a sticker affixed to the outer wrapper that had a quote from Steve Vai exclaiming that "Nobody on God's blue Earth plays the guitar like Michael Hedges". Needless to say, He was correct.

Ha. Cool to see this post. I saved that sticker and framed it. Still on my wall.

We go down life's lonesome road - cking into the past - no more stage in the Varsity, no more movie theater - book store next incarnation - and then? Tomorrow never knows.

the old music store that was across the street is substantially more vibrant as an apple store. when borders finally coughs up the varsity, let's take it back. it's a shrine!

I wonder what michael would be dooing if he was still alive. would he still play live? would he had got into social media? would he had manifest politically against trump? would he had composed music for movies? There are so many of these questions, than when you startt asking you slowly realise that some people are so poweful that their fate kinda changes entire aspects of the world.

true that. i believe Michael was a messenger, with his unique lyrics and choice of covers he did , was very powerful as you said. lets just hope he drove from that cliff if you know what i mean, sadly :(
