I'm 62 and my first trip was 1977, about 15. :) It's fun, and nice, to see and hear it as it was my first trip.

I wish Tomorrowland still looked like this. It was gorgeous. I loved the waterfalls at the entrance and the blue and white color scheme. I hate the rockwork at the entrance now but I admit Avenue of the Planets looks really cool at night. BTW, my first visit to WDW was in 1978.

I totally agree. had to comment because 1978 was the first time I was there too.

Disney College Program Alumni. Going back again this summer for a second program. My first program I was a cast member in Tomorrow Land. Loved it!

I loved If You Had Wings as a kid, even though I realized it was just a big commercial for Eastern. Disney parks have always had sponsers, but in this case it seemed like too much of an ad, IMO. At least Dream Flight went into the history and future of air travel. I think Dream Flight was like a mini Epcot pavilion.

So great to relive those memories of these classic attractions! Also a great inside view of how things were created and operated. I got a chance to explore these attractions inside and out for the last 10 years, being a Tomorrowland manager and a lot of this was new to me! Thank you!

Thank you for making and posting this video. It has so many of the old things I've missed from my first trip to WDW in 1977. I miss the Tomorrowland entry fountains as well. Not sure where or how you got some of this footage, but excellent job.

That "emergency" part of the Flight to the Moon where the bird crashes into the ground, that clip is actually on the monitors in the mission space control area (the part that faces the queue).

Not a cell phone around..people were actually talking to each other, and looking around...AMAZING! I've actually seen people texting during rides these days "sigh"

I tried filming "Carousel of Progress" last time I was at Disney. They shut down the ride and yelled at me.

I'm 16 years old and I despise the teen shows on Disney XD, and I definitely don't like Disney Junior. I love learning about the history of Disneyland and WDW and I definitely love seeing how much the parks have changed. :) So does my 11 year old brother, he and I spend a lot of time watching old videos like these. I honestly wish some of the attractions were here now, but it's progress. ^^

Wow, I didn't know Space Mountain was concieved as an eight- then four-track ride! (The capacity would've been amazing.) ....... I'm surprised Flight to the Moon and CircleVision couldn't open right away since they both already debuted @ Disneyland in 1967. ........ Very interesting about the PeopleMover track being partially built at the outset. I've heard several times that the same thing was done at Epcot (in Communicore) in anticipation of a PeopleMover being added there. Epcot could use one

I love this but I think most people might prefer actual narration rather than having to read through the whole thing. I wanted to look at the cool, rare footage but felt distracted by having to stop and read.

+oneironaut420 How true.... His videos are by far the best, but if they were narrated instead of captioned they would be Incredible!!!
@EM-ec4jo9 жыл бұрын
+oneironaut420 I'd have to disagree, honestly. Voiced narration would take away from the videos.
@oneironaut4209 жыл бұрын
+Eric Malone Very few documentaries use text to tell their stories. Narration and audio go much better with visuals. Having two things to look at, text and visuals, is just like having a split screen where your attention is divided between two different things. Audio does not disrupt visual input as much as a competing visual.
@EM-ec4jo9 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. I'd enjoy doing voice over for these videos, but something tells me Martin probably would prefer to do it himself.

The Disney Parks have been getting louder (visually speaking) and uglier by the decade. The "new" Tomorrowland at Disneyland is some bizarre Steampunk/clockwork garbage that's nothing but an eyesore. It seems the real "vision" behind the Disney parks died with Walt and his original team.
