Hotei is a great figure in Japanese music. T-Rex and David Bowie were two of his inspirations, he's spent a lot of time in Britain over many years, and he's lived in London for the past 10 years. He's worked with a who's who of Japanese and Western artists, has appeared in TV commercials, dramas, and films, and has extensive art and LP record collections - a Renaissance man. The First Take started in 2019, a Sony project that at first limited participation to Sony-affiliated artists, but they've since opened up and have had a great variety of performers on. Artists have said they go on it because the format is so simple, with none of the over-production common on albums and live shows.

If you like his music, you must go to enjoy his live performance. His concert in Hokkaido the other day was really great. The lightness is great!

Great reaction Mr B. These guys have a lot of energy! There's always some familiar riffs or melodies that you've already heard (4:15 this part sounds a little bit like "Ballroom Blitz" from Sweet) but the song and the performance are great, especially on a one take format. Thank you Mr B 🙏🏻

ARIGATO for the nice reaction!! There is my favorite song of HOTEI. Please watch the next song. "BAD FEELING"(live) by HOTEI, TOKIE, and NAKAMURA This three piece unit is super talented. TOKIE(bass) is the top bassist in japanese female musicians, NAKAMURA TATSUYA(drums) is very famous in japan

Hotei's style of music is similar to that of America, so I think he should live in America instead of London. I think that Hotei's music is more properly evaluated in America than in England. Asians don't get the credit they deserve in England. It is a great pity that Hotei chose London instead of America.

Thank you, I must be one of a few in Engalnd, then that appreciates the music from Japan. But yes I do agree with you America, would be better for him.
