I got this coffee maker a couple weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. It heats up and starts brewing right away. I've tried all 3 modes and they work well. I mostly use the normal setting. I have always liked Mr. Coffee products.

I had the old model of this style coffee maker. It lasted a few years, but the biggest issue I ran into is that the water reservoir and filter basket area are not sufficiently separated. Which leads to coffee ground dust entering the water reservoir. Eventually the water reservoir will get caked with coffee ground dust. Which, using the recommended cleaning procedure mentioned in the manual - running 4 cups of distilled white vingegar through the machine, followed by 2 full cycles of water - will not fully clean the caked on coffee grounds from the reservoir. Which I believe made me very sick. They also make the water reservoir opening so small that you can't get your hand in there with a sponge to get the residue out. There's also crevices in the plastic around the top of the unit under the lid area which are impossible to clean without completely disassembling the unit... Which is also nearly impossible lol. So. My advice, after owning the old unit for several years... is to spend a little extra on a coffee maker with an interior lid over the filter basket to prevent coffee grounds from entering the water reservoir, a unit which has a detachable water reservoir separate from the filter basket, or a unit with a wide opening for the reservoir so you can get in there and really scrub it clean when it gets dirty. The cheaper $28 Mr. Coffee unit has a wide opening for the water reservoir, but I returned it despite great reviews everywhere you look. It has twice the wattage as my old unit, but somehow brews much weaker coffee. Was not a fan of that. So, I'll be looking into a Ninja, Cuisinart, or Hamilton Beach coffee maker instead. As it seems Mr. Coffee has clearly lost their way. Making everything proprietary as well with their weird decanters now.

Thank you for the video. You always do great reviews of products . I bought one of these on 5/28/24. After a while it wouldn't come on and after sitting would . It did this a few times until the other day and it would never come on again. This is the first week of October of 24. Conversely, the old black and decker coffee maker I have had for years and bought at a yard sale is back on the kitchen counter and works fine. Make sure you keep your receipt but Walmart won't take it back after 90 days. I should have brought it back the first time it acted up but I'll never buy Mr Coffee anything ever again.

I've had the cheaper strong brew 12 cup programmable Mr. Coffee for a few years now. I've always liked Mr. Coffee. Mine still works but I think it's getting tired. I'm thinking about getting this one, it looks nice. I also noted you said it had a 1100 watt heating element. I looked on the bottom of mine, it's only 900 watts. So I wonder if this model will give me a hotter cup? Anyway it looks nice and I may pick it up soon.

Warming plate are the worst if you like burnt coffee. I dont recommend any coffee make that has a warming plate. You should only get coffee makers with an insulated crafe

I prefer hot coffee over lukewarm. If there’s less than a cup left in the carafe cut it off. I’ve never had burnt coffee when the carafe has more than a cup or two in my carafe. I use this model. Got rid of my Keurig because the coffee was never hot.

Why have a decaf brew when you already have a brew button. If it were possible that perk regular to decaf, that would be ok. But that is impossible with a mach. So I find it a moot point to have it. I make my own mix and I do not see any difference in ground size.
