K I hello, random person here who also loves the russian national anthem, i’m going to listen to breach the line and come back with my thoughts😉 wow! that was really good, i need to find out the name of the movie that has this song in the soundtrack. clips of different animated scenes are intercut in the music video and the song seems to really fit the feeling portrayed by the movie. a beautiful song and an awesome group of musicians

Alexander Alexandrov wrote this piece; he also started the Alexandrov Ensemble (the better and more famous of the two Red Army Choirs) and wrote a ton of great Soviet music. Alexandra Pakhmutova wrote some awesome stuff in the '60s and '70s. Shostakovitch did some really cool classical stuff in WWII, and Tchaikovsky's full 1812 Overture (written to commemorate the 1812 invasion of Russia by Napoleon) is perhaps the greatest piece of music ever written.
