I have been using this same thinking for years now. We use what we need to for our rabbits, chickens and ducks and get them onto a new patch of natural grazing within the week. We're seeing the results already. This lot was traditionally farmed (sprays and whatnot) before we purchased it. Now, three years on, deer come to graze our pasture. Not our neighbors to the north. Not our neighbors to the south. One of those neighbors asked why the deer aren't afraid of us. I told him they are afraid of us but our pasture is so much better tasting and nutritious, compared to yours, that they are willing to risk it. He laughed and said I was full of crap but still the deer graze my lot. Not his. They spray. I don't. The deer tell me who's correct.

My old Grandfather told me years ago that we are custodians of the land, that's all, as it will be there long after we are gone. So if you ever purchase land , make it as fertile as you can for the next generations. Don't just have one type of animal using it and grow all different kinds produce and trees.. This is not something new, it is just more people are realizing that pesticides & herbicides are not really needed which saves them money straight off the back.. Well done, keep up the good work.

All good ideas that work as u work in sync with how the Good Lord designed this planet. Balance being key. A variety of fauna & flora goes to breed up birds, insects & biological activity that brings this balance. What I have added to this mix is placing my Maker as my manager. I look for guidance from above in all things as I do not know what the future will bring, only He does. Also I have intergrated organic farming principals with finding people who wish to build a small community around the farm. This is not easy for honesty & a moral standard are needed for that to be achieved. Yet with guidance from above this is being achieved.

When you live in poverty, and the only food available is the worst type for our planet, that is the food that is purchased. Being in poverty then impacts health care, as does the poor food quality. When a message of hatred is spewed nearly 24/7 on news networks, convincing you that you have forces trying to control you, it is easy to want to escape in whatever way works. Deliberate corporate decisions are made in the interests of profit --- even if they know that, like a parasite, their product is deadly. Several years ago I thought up a clever sentence for the fly-leaf of a novel I was writing. At the time I thought it was a profound statement/sentiment... but now I see it as being the norm for humans The heros of my book, trying to turn back the destructive tide of climate change, say that they wish to eliminate the power of the darkest forces on the planet, those who put the needs of their power over the needs of their progeny. Alas, that seems to be the natural state of mankind.

I was just in Belize learning of a similar tale. The fall of the Mayans may have many factors, but deforestation and soil degradation are thought to be a large part of it. The article below is from a study from 2012, and while on a tour of Zunantunich (on the border of Guatemala and Belize) they mentioned the difference in land management. You can literally see the deforestation in Guatemala. Time will tell how that goes unless someone can convince them to turn it around. It was really interesting to hear local Belizians know much about their land and echo what's in the literature. www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/why-did-the-mayan-civilization-collapse-a-new-study-points-to-deforestation-and-climate-change-30863026/
