Takes me back. When I was little, I wanted that! But we couldn’t get it. Even after a couple times. When I turned 13 however, I accidentally slept on the sofa, and there sitting in front of me was a new in box Tomy Oliver bought by my aunt! Best birthday ever!

Hi eggtown624! Those pieces are called track adapters, they used to come with every trackmaster set a few years back but they are no longer available new to the best of my knowledge. I see them for sale on ebay allot though so that may be your best shot at getting some. Thanks for watching

Yes i know why they did it like that as in real life and the show his front wheels are powered, but in this toy it would be impossible to power the front wheels so this is the next best thing.

The Tomy (Japanese) are in fact the ones that we used to get in the UK up until 2007, and it's undeniable -as you've noticed- that the current Fisher Price that we now get in the UK suffer from inferior and inconsistent manufacturing standards (I believe this also applies to Australia, Europe and the States).

I agree about 2012 and earlier Trackmaster but these new engines I have been getting have very good running gear although some of the plastics seem to be cheaper and there are new methods of cost cutting like the plastic axles on Douglas' tender.

G-Day Mate here's some facts about Oliver... He arrived on Sodor in 1967 after being rescued by Douglas, Oliver's basis is GWR 14xx 0-4-2T and he and his other brother or cousin locomotives were built by the Swindon Works around the late 1930's

I found most of my engines and rolling stock today in my garage, what i'd kill to be young again. Over the about 8 years of being of the rails in boxes, they got pretty noisy, or you just get very quiet ones! I can't seem to find Donald and Douglas (old versions) which is a shame, as they are my favourites. Also, I got the same set and if he came with 2 coaches, where did I get a Toad and rusty Scruffey and new Scruffey?
