No matter pro-quality review or pro/con in the comments section, I reserve my opinion about the sound after I’ve had a chance to A/B this one against a standard DRRI with my own ears. I have an open mind to consider this amp fairly. Thanks for the great demo.
@LeF115 жыл бұрын
Something to keep in mind when comparing these against a reissue tube version is that they didn't model these after the reissues. They were modeling after the real deal vintage amps with the proper tubes, transformers, speakers, ptp wiring etc... So bearing that, you are going to notice more clarity and note definition along with just a better over all tone and vibe. The reissues do sound pretty good but if you compare them to a real deal amp that's in good shape with original parts, you'd just think the reissue is muddy and overall not as good. It really just comes down to the quality of parts in the reissues. Anyways, hope this helps you, its going to sound similar but i think the main reason a lot of people are saying they like the sound better in some of these blind tests is that they are hearing how these amps actually should sound for the first time.

Sounds great! from the A/B videos I’ve watched with the tube one I really think they got it right! IS the Tone Master that much better then their Mustang GT200 version of the Deluxe Reverb ?
@deanboca125 жыл бұрын
It is completely different. I have used the Fender Mustang Floor into a Peavey Vypyr 30. I liked it. Then I traded the Peavey for a Fender Campion 100. I used the Studio Preamp setting on the Mustang floor so as not to color the tone of the Champion. I liked that more. But the Tone Master is a different beast. The others were good clean platforms but sounded fizzy when pushed. The Tone Master acts and sound like DRRI clean and pushed. The lighter weight and attenuator (master volume) are what I really bought it for. But the only way to decide if it is worth the high cost is to play it and lift it.

Fender tubes amps cost from 550 to 3500 USD. However, the cost of the whole tubes kit is approximately the same (150/200 USD). The price difference is in the rest (speaker, electronics, hardware and accessories). This is the reason why digital amps can cost from 50 to 1150 USD. Personally, I'm willing to pay more for a digital than for a tube amp if it is better and this is the case between this amp and my Blues Junior (tube amp) that I bought 700 USD! If It's to expensive you can buy an emulating software ( Amplitube Fender Collection) which cost 99 USD.

Attenuate doesn't apply, it's the wrong term. Solid States don't change with dial changes. This is the most beautiful looking solid state conception, making a digital modeling amp totally manual with dials, that itself is an achievement, BUT this is nothing what my 64 BF Deluxe Reverb sounds like, not close, in a bar situation you'd quickly know you were on ss amp, ss reverb destroys the articulation of single note lead playing. Reverb is accomplished by a large spring in a pan that, speed of light, small ms delay, amplified by its own 12at7 driver, fed in with the direct amp, mixed with a dial, 12ax7 stack. Some experimentation with hybrids like the Marshall valvestate is an example of using tubes in the preamp stage and then throwing a lot of power or solid state class D at the signal and while it's not great it increases reliability and decreases wait but you still have tubes for the things that tubes are crucial for this one doesn't have any of that this is just pure solid state and it's never going to work In a noisy bar gig you'd quickly be the douche with no mojo. I can see the way it's going here we're going to be forced to accept something that's worse just like cell phones are much worse than pots phones as far as quality but we just accept that offer convenience we accept the drop-in call Quality it's the same here it's funny cell phones have the same class D amplifier occasion that's where he used Class D on things like cell phones not on guitar amps because there's no warmth no real ones, Peavey used to have a dial called saturation that's what that sounds like
@mcubez8172 жыл бұрын
You’re quickly being the douche hating on this for no reason. We get it, you’re a tube snob!
