This is honestly the most concise video I’ve seen. Especially your explanation of why the delays were set up that way. This is beyond excellent!

"Generic and affordable," brilliantly explained and I liked how you adjusted the eq at the end, to demonstrate that the essential tone was there and that musicians need to get their own tone. Allan actually veered away from some of his tones and gear simply because everyone (that had heard him) wanted to clone his sound. But then, that's all credit to his work. By the way, you mentioned increasing gain when you play with the eq - you are right. Levels will increase if you are raising any frequencies, and also levels decrease with any dipping of frequencies.

Great video, recently realized that indeed rolling off some of the volume and treble on the guitar gives you some extra tone control at your fingertips. Thanks! Really enjoyed your video and insights

Has anyone found a good alternative to a UD Stomp or Magicstomp that's currently in production to get similar stacked delay effects like that?
@paulauksztulewicz48032 жыл бұрын
Great explanation! So is this a stereo setup when you run the UD stomp with L/R delays?
@aryuserius2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir. Your signal is mono at that point and you can pan the delays any which way you want. A mono signal out of the delay works great too!

Is a typical compressor/sustainer pedal a good replacement for the TC sustainer? That pedal is crazy hard to source and really expensive nowadays :(
@aryuserius3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Yes! Any compressor on the front end will do a similar thing. The key is to get the bit of gain out of it without squashing it.

Thanks, leRnd something new about using 2 delays. I use a drum room reverb setting (axe FX 2) but probably just ditch the reverb for now. Thanks!

thanks for the infor mate a good video, tone matching to holds worth is not easy and a little unusual to normal guitar tone because he boosts the 400-800 hz region which gives it that horn sound he apparently liked. cheers

@@aryuserius Yes. Such a great tutorial. I think I need a compressor now to squeeze some more sustain out. Do you know what overdrive Allan used? I mainly use a TC spark to clean boost then a Tubescreamer. The only other thing I would say is that the pickup height is quite crucial to a good tone. Too high and the magnets affect the way the string vibrates.
@aryuserius3 жыл бұрын
@@davidlloyd9598 Allan mainly used the TC Line Booster before his amp for the lead sound. How is the Spark? Good sustain? The tube screamer has always been too gainy for me. Allan said he could feel the pull of the magnets from the pickups!!!
