Normally, those people would never wake up from their fantasy worlds. They live meaningless lives. They waste their precious days over nothing. No matter how old they get, they'll continue to say, "My real life hasn't started yet. The real me is still asleep, so that's why my life is such garbage." They continue to tell themselves that. And they age. Then die. And on their deathbeds, they will finally realize: the life they lived was the real thing. People don't live provisional lives, nor do they die provisional deaths. That's a simple fact! The problem... is whether they realize that simple fact. This scene changed my life
@Madhawk19955 жыл бұрын
it was the original reason I quit playing games, started yoga + cross fit, studying hard in college, started NoFap, decided to get into stocks and business. I relapsed life happened clearly cross fit and injuries are synonymous. 5 years later, life happens I am here now. I am awake. The best I can do is aim for growth everyday. The time I spend depressed will not lead to growth. Be aligned with your purpose and work towards building skills. Sacrifice is needed. I have not found a way around that rule. Do not deny sleep, your family relationships, and your work. The rest isn't truly needed for your growth.
@yvesarakawagames4 жыл бұрын
@Madhawk1995 I admire your mental strength. I was just thinking: how does one live a meaningful life? Working your ass off for money isn't so meaningful either. Lazing around isn't either. Building an empire just so you do not need to work and can laze around? That's just another excuse to laze around. What's so meaningful? Following your goals sounds good, and you will have purpose, but you will have to make up new goals as you go and some might have only meaning to you but be completely meaningless to others and humanity. I got a bit lost here... learning is surely a great goal. Always learning, trying something new. But what else is so "meaningful"? Even money only has meaning in our heads.
@Diabl0Mask4 жыл бұрын
@@yvesarakawagames I think the ultimate goal should be to not have any regrets when you get old, so you can die happy without worrying about what you did or didn't do in your life. If you can afford to laze around then by all means, but it shouldn't be at the expense of your future.
@yvesarakawagames4 жыл бұрын
@@Diabl0Mask I am not sure. What if a person with no conscience has no regrets when they grow old? Now I think it might be better to think more as a collective human race... and to think of others more, humans as well as animals, nature. Some people have no actual money-earning jobs but do a lot for humanity. Others die and only years later the books they have written have a huge positive impact on humanity. They might have been "losers" when they lived but they did everything they could to lead humanity to a better future. Maybe they also lazed around too but it's definitely better than dying in a war that you personally do not believe in or acting without integrity in daily life. But thanks for the input.

None exageration, this speech is the best I've ever had from any media, so cruel, realistic and useful.
This reminds me of the "Dream" speech from the movie Collateral, on the surface, it's just a well-made thriller, but underneath, it's about coming face-to-face with the consequences of settling for mediocrity and lying to yourself that someday your life will start. One day you wake up and it's gone... you're old. This speech is way more elaborate, but powerful nonetheless. The truth is going through life aimlessly, hoping things will work out never works out. If you ever don't make the cut for something, don't tell yourself it wasn't meant to be, that's a toxic and life-ending mentality. If you don't get what you want, try harder, never give up, force the will of reality towards you. You MUST make it happen because no one else will.

I completely agree. It's also with those people who say it's never too late to start. Yes there is. 30-40 years of wasting away your life doesn't come with no consequences. And those consequences come too heavy to bare by the time you're 30-40. Most people just give up. People think they can get married in their 40s, but most cases they're marrying leftovers nobody wants. Bc the good ones are taken already, much early on. Or wanting to completely change their life at 40. Fuck no. U been a bum for 40 years. You're not gonna be anything, it's too late. People can become so lost that at some point they cannot be found. They're done for.

The irony is that even your philosophy has its limits. There comes a point where you are forced to quit and give up something in life and if you don’t believe that you will have it beaten into you by life at some point. Plenty of men are labeled as creeps by women they have been chasing for years without giving up, plenty of people live in denial that they will never realistically get that career or life they want due to numerous circumstances outside of their control, and plenty of washed up celebrities have been driven to insanity desperately trying to get their fame and fortune back. There comes a point where you have to accept failure and move on or risk losing your mind. Those who refuse to accept this pay a steep price. I was forced to learn it when my military career was cut short and I was nearly driven to off myself by it.

@@nautilus2612, John Korn You two are right, I might have phrased that poorly. Tthe show itself doesn't feel serious, and is more of a comedy. What I meant wasn't the show itself, but the way the characters act - which does create the cartoonish tone. Kaiji did have that over-the-top commentary from the narrator as well, but the ham-fisted delivery still managed to keep the tension sometimes due to the severity of the situation.
