Thanks for the video. I lived on the nearby Bierley estate between 1970 and 1997 and I cannot ever remember using that particular subway. I do remember the T&A report into the accident but I always thought it was closer to the junction with Rooley Lane and Wakefield road roundabout where it occurred.

Sad story but interesting that you were a witness to the aftermath. Thanks for pointing out the railing and lintel damage. I love the little details like that and like you always want to know what's behind locked doors. If I go to an old house or a castle for example I always want to see into the doors with no admission on them or stairs with a chain across.

The damage is something one wouldn't ordinarily notice unless it's pointed out as it looks like aged related decay. Thank you for watching.

I lived on tong st in the 80s walked thru that subway many times..wow thQ..for the info..

i learnt something new about this subway, i've used it so many times on my journeys when i lived in the area and had no idea. there's another subway further down that's since been filled in and a lorry ploughed through the roundabout that was there, ending up in the open area between the subways too. this would've been in the last ten years or so.

Thanks for your kind comments. The St Johns roundabout accident, poor fella had a heart attack at the wheel and yes you're right the truck plunged into subway after crashing through the roundabout.

I remember this very well when I was a kid and watched them drag the car out of the subway with a Land Rover , the door in the subway is the electrics for the lights

Do you know eny thing about a accident on Leeds road about early 80s when a car or bus crashed into armeni textiles near the Waterloo pub and where Salah's is now I remember going to feversham school and seeing a set off false teeth on the road with blood on them.

I remember going down that subway to school in the 1970's - Durley hill first school, its now a college for Muslim clerics. Does it still smell of wee down there?

Such a disgusting place it's time those councils spent our money on making Bradford look decent, that was a very sad story, now he is recognised even without the name , is soul will be rested, the graffiti shows the damaged character of the person's who scribbled them, God love him now in save hands 💙
