Hello. I went to high school there. My first apartment was there. 2 bedroom just up from the beach. Rent was $150. a month 1973- 1974. That's right one hundred and fifty dollars a month. Had ants in the kitchen and the carpet was so worn then you could see the backing. Had to keep even my bread in the frig because of the ants.. But I loved listening to the rain on the graveled roof. Sounded like lots of people clapping. Had a nice skylight. 60 Poloma Ave. Sad the beach has eroded way.

Before inflation took off and the US went off the gold standard to fiat currency....ever since constant inflation non stop has the rent for the exact same apartment at $2000 per month....Good news...the inflation cannot grow much more before the imminent default of the us dollar ....there is no feasible way to resolve a $30 trillion dollar government debt without imminent default.....to make it worse China and Russia are dumping US securities for gold and OPEC is trading oil independent of the us dollar between iran and china.....things are all aligned for some very big breaches around the world.....Jesus returns towards the end of this decade according to Daniel 12:11-13.

I live in Outer Sunset of San Francisco 10 blocks from the ocean at 37ave and Judah Street. I am currently visiting my mother in Land Locked Yuma, AZ. I am an Uber Driver on a much needed vacation and I am sure I have been in front of this house walking or what not before. Stay safe everyone.

This is not a warning. It is an advisory. We are supposed to stay out of the water and away from the shore. No one, that I am aware of, has been told to evacuate.

I am confused here. The pictured residence has no elevation above sea level. Looks like 2-3 feet at most. How one would live under such conditions? Any medium storm will flood the house, not talking about any small tsunami. Did I miss something?

I think that normally, the top water level is considerably further back from the house. And also, even on the coast, CA weather is usually very mellow. We don't get hurricanes or nor'easters here, though once in a while there's a decent rainstorm with some high surf. Not the same though. All that said, I wouldn't live right on the ocean like that. Maybe at the top of a tall cliff overlooking it, but not at sea level. Not even in the tropics. Tooscary4me.

In the interest of full disclosure, it was a full moon (or nearly so) and the tide was high right at the time of the "tsunami". Also, there has been decent sized surf this week. The tsunami was a little bit of a boost. The Santa Cruz Harbor parking lot flooded, but it's done that before.

Pacifica Native here. Family has lived there for 52 years. THIS IS NOTHING! Should have seen the houses that used to be in front of the beach before they all got remodeled. The water went up several blocks. Broke that pier to the left and demolished the ocean walls.

Except for the two fishermen on the beach at San Gregorio who were knocked over, then sucked away from the shore as the wave reversed. Ended up okay, but should have heeded the Advisory! One had to be taken to Stanford Medical Center via LifeFlight helicopter! Stay Home!

There are some pretty large tsunamis, usually island countries like tonga would stop a tsunami, even the entire east coast of Australia has a tsuanmi warning from the Tonga tsuanmi And that is also large for Canada considering it’s so close to the arctic

It’s a 1-3 ft wave...most of the coast is elevated so no issues but Santa Cruz is lower in some places. Some flooding but certainly nothing apocalyptic...
