WHAT IS TRUE LOVE?
Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my wife"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.
As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familia and platonic love to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love. Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.
The composition of this song is in reference and exemplify Aesop's Fable about the race between the Hare and the Tortoise. A Hare one day ridiculed the short feet and slow pace of the Tortoise. The latter, laughing, said: "Though you be swift as the wind, I will beat you in a race." The Hare, deeming her assertion to be simply impossible, assented to the proposal; and they agreed that the Fox should choose the course, and fix the goal. On the day appointed for the race they started together. The Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course. The Hare, trusting to his native swiftness, cared little about the race, and lying down by the wayside, fell fast asleep. At last waking up, and moving as fast as he could, he saw the Tortoise had reached the goal, and was comfortably dozing after her fatigue.
In the book The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the image of appearance versus reality contributes to characterization, theme, and structure. Appearance can be defined as, an outward aspect of somebody or something that creates a particular impression. Almost contradictory is the definition of reality: actual being or existence as opposed to an imaginary, idealized, or false nature. A prominent image in Shakespeares play, Macbeth, is the contrast between appearance and reality and can be seen interlaced throughout each act of the play. The image appearance versus reality plays a hefty role in developing characters specific roles throughout the play of Macbeth. Characters throughout the play can be seen as two faced; they are not what they seem for there is always a constant battle between the positivity and negativity of our individuality.
The way people act on the outside and who they really are on the inside may be two absolutely different people. Some individuals may alter who they are because they feel they don't fit in. Other people simply pretend to be something they arent. No matter which way you look at it, if you try to be someone or something youre not, the truth will always appear in the end.
