Wow, needed this video! I can pucker bend up top but can't for the life of me TB blow bends. Something new to add to the practice session, thanks 🙏👍🎶

Such a tough technique, particularly on the 10 hole, great challenge to focus on along with TB OB's

I cannot believe it but this channel just went totally insane! What an insane topic from you brother! I was trying to learn the rhythm on the low notes from you and suddenly, in the middle of nowhere yku you bring up yhe esoteric technique,on which I usually bust my high blow reeds or something! Now I'm convinced knowing all the bends is the key to mastery eh?

Yep, I just double checked: jammed 789 draw on my Fender blues deluxe A. Jon Gondick once helped me fix one when I was trying to play the high B (ten blow bent). I think it's Jon who was kind of like "don't "
@TheHarmonicaBarge4 ай бұрын
Ha ha, don't worry John! this technique is quite specialised :) also, don't worry too much you can still play pucker bends too- it's all about style!

Thanks, brother! @TheHarmonicaBarge Well, I really want to become fluent with this technique. But do you gave any suggestions for how I can steps to prevent my high draw notes from getting jammed?

I have to work on this a lot more because I so often "over shoot" so the it unbends. I have asked David Barrett about this and was hoping for some definite answer because of his general insistence on tongue block as the embouchure. Blow bending was his exception though and the only thing he said was, if I feel better using pucker up there, then stay with that. He said he puckers blow bends a lot. 😱

ah thanks so much that's really interesting! I think maybe a lot of the Blues players do the same but it's us Old-Timey/Rag-timey folks that get into these weird techniques :)

😮Just got it why Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings always play puckered... Easy for him to get his tongue stuck in the reeds....😮

By the way Ed I hope when I said that it didn't sound mean or angry or anything like that. I actually meant "insane" like this is wild & crazy and really cool! Totally sorry for any confusion! 😅
