Dare I say, is this girl a genius? I know I’m blown away. She’s like a modern day Shakespeare. And she’s really needed in today’s troubled world.

I agree. Not sure the jazz band suits her best, but the album (2014) is worth every penny.

tbh the instrumentation seems fine but the drummer is out of time

I think that the drummer and keyboard both slightly out of time adds to the discord of the content and actually adds to the piece.

Im crying as I write this because I too am a veteran. She kills it like one other. Wilfred Owen from WW1. Im crying as typically my soul as a veteran always does, we havve learned the lessons of war time and time again. However, our egos tend to think its ok to kill for those with the money and the power.

Kate Tempest writes so deeply about her surroundings and what she sees matters to her and she makes it matter to all of us. I could barely contain myself from the realism of this poem and how she respected the soldiers and told some of the things they had to live through and have to live with. I only wish my father could have heard this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Kate.

FLASHBACK!!!! just the way it is! Awesome Kate Faces, faces, faces, Everywhere I look, Faces, faces, faces, Floating in the air Some are young, some are old Still, faces come in the night. Every night fighting sleep Just in case they come, Dueling Mr Sandman Only to feel numb. Then in the rem memories come flooding in Like a creeping fog Obliterating joyful scenes, Then one by one they come Faces, faces faces I see the dullness in their eyes The bloodless colour of their skin. my hands covered in their blood That flows and never stops guilty, guilty, guilty they shout! Our blood is on your hands. desperation, swinging wildly, arms flaying in the night, Screaming, go! Go! But still they came. Faces faces faces in the night. Suddenly! A piercing light fills the room, Ghostly faces scream and shout, Scattering into the ether of the night, Stillness! Calm serenity floods into the room, its power, engulfs me, Grace, love and protection, Then! A loving voice echo's in my Heart, I am with you! My son! My beloved! My love for you never died, I am with you, I am always with you, I am your shield, Drew my son, You are forgiven, cleansed, sanctified by my blood. You are free for evermore. Amen.
