Tonguing Trick (No Clarinet Needed!)

Tonguing is one of the most difficult things to do well on clarinet because we can't actually see what we're doing. This video builds on our Whistle Tricks video and gives you an easy way to make sure you're articulating correctly. It's so easy that you don't even need your clarinet!

Nice to hear this whistling trick. I was able to whistle very well ten years ago. But now, I can’t whistle a tone. What could be the reason that I lost the ability to whistle?

That's a good question! I'm not sure. My only guess is that our bodies change as we age, so maybe your lips have changed a bit. I'm not a whistling expect though. Thankfully, you don't actually need to be able to whistle to do the whistle trick. You can still hear the pitch in your air, even if your lips aren't able to turn the air into a clear whistle.
