所谓的“nobody at my school taught us morals or values” 完全就是当事人在给自己找借口,完全是撒谎,任何一个国家的学生都知道作弊和抄袭是错误。很惊讶一个MIT老师居然放到演说稿,可见她对中国的教育或者中国是多么的偏见。赞扬这个中国女士,英语真棒! 换了我,也就是立刻退场表示抗议,英语实在一般。
This is known as tokenism or cheerypicking, the Chinese equivalent is called 以偏概全. Tokenism or cherry picking is a key method for people to spread misinformation and how racism is formed.

@@erikchengmo Agree, but I believe we call the Chinese saying of 以偏概全 as "generalisation". I learned that term many decades ago by the following example: the thief came from Suriname (a former Dutch colony), so ALL Surinamers are thieves. Oops..... Also, I do notice that this "ONE person" in many cases is often also imaginary. In other words, they just manufacture consent by lying.
As a retired academics/researcher, I applaud the audience who speak out and make suggestion to the presenter as what is a best practice. Well done and speak out when it matters.
A very strong, valid, and persuasive comment was delivered by this Chinese lady to rebuke the speaker, who was clearly biased and discriminatory in her earlier speech. Thumbs up👍👍👍💪💪💪🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳
Yes. Thank you for speaking up against her comment! We will not be the silent minority!❤

The response from this professor is complete BS. It’s obvious that her main focus is to highlight the response from the expelled students “Nobody in our school teach us moral and values “. Let alone this is a complete lie, it’s also contradictory to her own words, “majority of the Chinese students are honest with integrity “. What’s the point to specifically highlight an expelled student’s answer? Or it’s this teacher really wants to express her own opinions by quoting a student who was expelled because the moral issues.

善哉、善哉…Unfortunately, this is just a reflection of their society’s racist nature. This phenomenon surfaced in different aspects of the western world. It is also a reflection of the culture itself. We can see this in history and current times…bless the people in the west who are still lost🙏
She, the presenter, did it purposely and you can tell she knows it’s inappropriate from her stuttering comments.

美國學校到底有沒有教學生不可以種族歧視,違法的言行!

I admire the student's courage, assertiveness, and wit in pointing out the professor's mistake. Likewise, I appreciate and respect the professor's bravery in admitting her error without any excuses. This is what humanity is about.
It’s unfortunate, BUT VERY TRUE!
